Details of this retreat

Train the restless mind to come home.
In yoga, the mind is understood to be naturally restless, drawn outward through the senses. Today that pull is stronger than ever, and staying steady, present, and connected takes practice. Join counselor and yoga teacher Joni Staaf-Stamford, author of The AI Antidote, for a practical, experiential weekend on understanding and retraining your attention.
What You'll Experience
Blending classical yoga philosophy with real-world application, Joni will help you see how distraction arises and how to return to a more centered state. The emphasis is on direct practice over theory.
The weekend includes:
Meditation — strengthen focus and learn to return, again and again, to the presentBreath awareness (pranayama) — use the breath to regulate the nervous systemGentle movement — settle the body so the mind can followGuided inquiry — examine your own habits of attention and build self-awarenessThe koshas and chakras — two yogic maps of how attention and energy move through the body and mind, with practical tools for greater balance
You'll leave with greater clarity, emotional steadiness, and simple tools for cultivating attention and presence in daily life.
Who This Is ForAnyone who feels scattered, overstimulated, or pulled in too many directions and wants simple, lasting tools to steady the mind. All levels are welcome.

Thanks to meditation sessions with Joni, I have been able to reduce the stress I felt in my daily life. I react to things with less anxiety and worry, plus I have more energy than ever. ~Warren
Joni's classes have really helped me to slow down and to be more aware of my body… more mindful of my thoughts and feelings. I feel stronger physically and empowered emotionally… better equipped to handle the challenges of everyday life. ~Susan
The kind of person that would benefit from a trip like this is someone who needs to get out of their head and simply be in a place that is quiet, loving, and serene. Joni provides that. ~Leah
Joni's missive on AI reminds you that whether it's driverless cars, the algorithms powering financial markets, or the chatbot pretending to be your friend, none of these tools is a replacement for your intelligence, your creativity, your imagination, or your peace of mind. Be curious, set convenience aside, embrace effort and uncertainty, and meet and laugh with friends. Thank you, Joni, for your very timely book. ~Dr. Huma Shah, AI & AI Ethics Senior Lecturer, Coventry University, UK
