About this Retreat
Daniela was born and grew up in Italy. After some years traveling as tour guide, she decided to settle in Granada, Spain, where she started to studied in the “Sol y Luna” school. In 2005 she began studying ayurvedic medicine with the study of abhyanga massage and marma treatments. In 2006 Daniela was certified as ayurveda massage therapist by APTN_COFENAT. This same year she began to study shiatsu and traditional chinese medicine. Thanks to this beautiful 4 year path, in which Daniela gained an understanding of the functioning of nature’s elements and their relationship with the body, she can integrate the knowledge of these two ancient arts of healing. Ayurveda medicine and chinese medicine have many things in common. In 2010 she was certified as a shiatsu therapist by A.P.S.E. Daniela’s love for shiatsu and the practice with patients, stimulated her to deepen her study, participating in 2010 in an intensive course about “Diagnostic and work with chakras” with Diego Sanchez, teacher from Uruguay. In 2011 she attended a postgraduate course about “Shiatsu and menstruation” with Marina De Franceschi from Italy. She began to regularly practice Qi Gong in order to be in good health and energetically strong while working with patients. Between 2010 and 2012 she trained at “Sol Y Luna” school to become a Qi Gong teacher. Daniela taught and worked with shiatsu in a number of differens centers in Granada, ArtesSanas en Movimiento which is a creative project where she could meet professionals of other disciplines and exchange methodologies of yoga practices, Qi Gong techniques and classical indian dance. Between 2011 and 2012 she travelled in India where she practiced hatha yoga (as yoga vacation) in Sivananda Ashram in Neyyr Dam and experience a treatment in Parathuvayalil ayurvedic hospital in Cochin. Since arriving in Ecuador Daniela has been training in Tantra Yoga with Iris Disse and assisting with the creation of Durga’s Tiger School. She’s now certified as Master Yoga Teacher (500 hours) in Tantra Yoga. In 2017 she attended a course a Ovariuos Breath and gort certification to give courses. -KAULA TANTRA YOGA: THE CORE PRACTICE OF OUR TRAINING
At Durga’s Tiger School, Kaula Tantra Yoga is the foundation of our experience-based 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training.
This ancient yoga system has been passed down through a living lineage for over 5,000 years. The unique Kaula Tantra Yoga sequence we offer is transmitted directly from Bhagavan Shanmuka Anantha Natha at Shri Kali Ashram in India.
Kaula Tantra Yoga is an embodied, meditative and still yet powerful practice that invites you into deep relaxation and pleasure. Students are guided to flow into each asana with softness and self-care, allowing the body to express itself without pressure or judgment, allowing the practictioner to hold poses in a relaxed way, strenghtening muscles and tendons at the same time that mind, power of will and spirit.
Through a daily practice of Kaula Tantra Yoga, you will:
• Cultivate patience, self-care and self-empowerment
• Experience asana as a personal, expressive ritual rooted in the acceptance and enjoyment of your true self
• Feel held in a space of love and compassion
• Explore & balance your divine masculine and feminine energy
Kaula Tantra Yoga is more than a practice — it’s a gateway to the Tantric yogic lifestyle. On and off the mat, it encourages you to embrace life fully with the simple enjoyment of being present.
APPLIED TANTRIC WISDOM
These classes are a powerful opportunity for self-discovery through dynamic group and partner work. Note that there is no nudity or sexual contact.
You will come together to open to life; learning to embrace the dual nature of reality, dancing between beauty, chaos, magic, intensity, and intimacy — you will begin to make a clear connection between yoga, sacred sexuality, and art.
How can you integrate the liveliness of new experiences into your everyday life and relations?
INTUITIVE ANTOMY AND PHISIOLOGY
You will approach the vision and methodology of the Kaula Tantra yoga practice in these classes. You will develop a connection with the inner body intelligence, learn how to read it better and act according to its current needs. It’s about the combined powers of the mind and the physical body and the effect of being totally in harmony with the messages you perceive from your body in each moment.
You will learn the main principles of tantra philosophy, the Ayurvedic knowledge, alignment, and pranayama to understand the traditional yoga practice and its benefit on the whole human being in all its levels- physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
MANTRA CHANT AND SACRED SONGS
Mantras, the science of sound, represent in the tantric tradition a powerful tool for the liberation of the mind and connection with higher states of consciousness. You will explore different mantras during the meditation practices, mantra chanting circles, and yoga practice.
You will use mantras and sacred songs of indigenous cultures to connect with the spirits of nature and the mystery of creation. The teacher training also involves chanting sacred songs from different cultures. Students explore the vibration that the sound creates within you and at the same time they learn about the use of the voice as a tool to guide people into yoga practice.
PARTNER YOGA
You will discover the joy and the importance of support and be supported, through this experiencing the delight of giving and receiving. The challenge is, how do you cultivate and care for your sacred space, but also nurture your partner’s needs and desires?
In these classes you will continue to work with the asanas of the Kaula Tantra series; through the tantric wisdom approach, you will cultivate focus in presence, senses, connection, and body communication. Through these functions, you will enter into the dance of Shiva and Shakti.
DURGA'S TIGER DANCE
Durga’s Tiger Dance is a form of movement developed by Iris Disse based on tantric energy work and techniques of “liberation of the voice”. When you turn on to feel, you will allow things to move within you, old patterns become visible to be dissolved, fears are slowly disempowered, and there is a bang! and the inner potential unleashed. They invite you not to judge the feelings that arise but to allow your inner witness to guide your experience.
ARTS
Is an energetic fusion of techniques such as improvisation, clowning, dancing, musical/rhythm work, meditation, and practical shamanism. Through these exercises, you can integrate the foundations of ART into life.
Some themes you work on are connecting with the inner child, connecting with intuition, developing the right brain activity to enhance lateral thinking, releasing old patterns and blockages, opening senses to the present moment, and group work that fosters loving, compassionate ways of relating. With these skills, you begin to increase your creativity and may open to a new perspective completely.
KARMA YOGA IS PART OF THE LEARNING COMMUNITY PROCESS
You will help each other to maintain a common space, and by focusing energy in the collective, you will come together to maintain a high vibrational space. Through Karma yoga, you will keep in contact with the Earth (Pachamama) and her fruits while you contribute to the well-being of the collective environment.
Living in the ashram enables students to focus intensively on their training, away from everyday tasks and distractions; allowing them to fully immerse themselves in a process of learning and self-discovery. An energetic group environment is created, enabling students to share their experiences and learning processes; in turn, collectively deepening their understanding of tantra and yogic practices.
SHAMANISM
Yoga and Tantric knowledge has the same spiritual background than shamanism worldwide : nature is alive, part of us and we are all connected together with animals, stones, trees and Spirit.
In this training, in the wild French Dordogne, we will explore shamanic knowledge and energy through rituals, learnings and experiments coming from the ancestral Celtic tradition but also the neo-paganism and its social and political links nowadays. This class aims to offer to students the possibility to connect to their inner power and to really feel and embody this deep connection to Nature and the Universe.
BREATHWORK CEREMONY
A breathwork ceremony will mark the midpoint of the training. This is a space to explore what is alive in you – the body, the energy, your emotions, and your thoughts. Guided by the breath, you will step beyond your everyday state of consciousness, diving deep within. Through the use of conscious connected breath, movement, sound, and touch, you facilitate your body’s natural process of releasing mental, emotional, and physical blockages stored within – paving the way for feelings of aliveness, self-love, and deep relaxation.
