Details of this retreat

Respond to Jesus’ invitation to "Come away by yourselves... and rest a while" (Mark 6:31) and deepen your relationship with Him.

This retreat offers an opportunity to listen to the Good Shepherd as He speaks through Sacred Scripture. By growing in familiarity with His voice (John 10:27), we learn to recognize Him in the circumstances of our lives, in others, and in the depths of our hearts.

The weekend features interactive conferences on selected biblical passages and praying with them.  Together we will strive to listen attentively to the Lord through liturgy, personal prayer, and fellowship, and enable His voice to resonate within our hearts throughout the weekend and long after the retreat ends.

Shalom
This retreat was well presented and gave us opportunities to participate. I received many invites of the Old and New Testsments of the Bible. Father Pat really knows how to impart knowledge from his vast experiences and his his mastery of the Bible. He is a fantastic teacher. My wife and I are so blessed to have these opportunities to attend these remarkable retreats. We meet many people on our faith journey. It was great to be with people like that.

Peace of Christ be with you!
What a powerful day retreat on "Shalom"! So blessed to have Fr. Patrick be our presenter who had lived many years in Jerusalem to acquire a pontifical doctorate degree. So much wonderful information, resources and simply many things to open our horizons on what Shalom-peace really envelops in our world, community and our personal lives. An awesome day!
God Bless and Thank you!

Shalom A Biblical Perspective
The speaker was very knowledgeable and presented this knowledgeable in a very easy to understand way. He also presented in a way that that made you think about what Shalom means in your own life and how it impacts every aspect of your life. He was also very personable and shared some of his personal experiences which added even more depth to all of our experiences. He was absolutely wonderful and I would definitely attend any other presentations by him.
Thank you for offering these wonderful experiences.

“SHALOM” – A Biblical and Existential Challenge
It's a deep topic and could easily be presented over several afternoons! I was familiar with some of the content from previous study, so that helped me to listen to the teaching. I did additional study after the retreat to help me integrate some of the aspects of "Shalom" in my life. If I attended the retreat again, I would try to come in with a quieter mind and more receptive spirit Of course, meeting other people with an interest in the same topic is always great!

Shalom with Fr. Patrick Cronauer, O.S.B.
I attended this 4 hour retreat on June 26, 2026. The setting at the St. Vincent Archabbey is very calming, and is perfect for the retreat. I appreciate praying the Mid-day prayer as the first activity. This helps the retreatants to focus on God, and to put aside the distractions of the world. Fr. Pat explained Shalom very well, with the right amount of detail. This fostered excellent discussions with each breakout group. Finally, I appreciate the excellent hospitality. The Fred Rogers Center is perfect, as is the excellent food that is provided. I highly recommend this retreat for these reasons.
