"Everything was going so beautifully until storm Darragh put a stop to our weekend !
The 24 hours my daughter and I shared at the Deerstone was wonderful . Casey smiled the entire time , was welcoming , relaxed and gave the best sessions . Resident botanist Amy added an absolutely perfect ingredient to what was a really immersive experience into the local nature at Deerstone .
Accommodation was lovely and our cottage well equipped for self caterers, very clean and warm .
Unfortunately we never got to use the hot tub or any of the other enticing spa facilities dotted around the site .
Hopefully we will be back and for the whole weekend next time ! "

"Loved our 2 night stay in a Shepherd’s hut, so peaceful and beautiful views. A beautiful deer and her baby visited us….magical."
"First time retreat experience - what a great day! Warm reception, forest bathing, guided yoga, sauna and plunge pool with delicious food and restful meditation - from the greeting with warm apple cider through to the delicious lunch the day was very well curated and presented by Amy & Casey. I would highly recommend the experience and their interest and caring shone through the whole day. The Deerstone is a gorgeous place and has been very tastefully renovated."
"Really enjoyed the retreat from start to finish, the nature bathing really relaxed us ready for the day and Amy's knowledge of nature & foraging was so interesting.
The yoga was the best we'd ever done with Casey leading us through each move and showing us new variations to get more from each movement if we wanted to.
The lunch was absolutely perfect and so tasty and delicious, not to mention the beautiful surroundings and the facilities, all the little touches make it really special, couldn't fault anything.
Thank you for a wonderful day of rejuvenation & rest. "
"From arrival to departure, the staff were so warm and welcoming.
The Deerstone is a stunning place, with lots of thought and attention to detail throughout.
Would highly recommend for a unique event space, or a quiet weekend away.
Thanks for a wonderful stay x "
"I have stayed here twice. Brand new buildings but in a maturely planted oasis. Very stylish interiors, helpful staff, outdoor saunas and hot tubs everywhere. Yoga teacher and home made granola were both amazing. Can walk into nearby village Larragh for a coffee/dinner. 5 minutes drive to Glendalough which has great hikes."
"We had a wonderful stay at this gem of a retreat in the middle of a breathtaking nature and the kindest people. Everyone working there are just the kindest humans, we really appreciated that. Our hut was great, the hot tub was a dream, the sauna amazing. Everything was just perfect. We loved it here."
"We were made most welcome right from arrival by Angela. I was running late but was able to order freshly prepared pizzas from the shed.. gorgeous and just the job after a long drive.
Facilities and staff were first class. Hot tub, sauna and various cold water dips were my favourites oh and the cacoon chairs …. all with a view of the mountains.
The cottage itself was next level, beds were divine!
Can’t recommend highly enough…. And yes I’ll be back! "
"My shepherd's hut at The Deerstone felt in every way like a hut at the edge of the village — a get-away to a thin place — from bustle to calm, from noise to peace, I loved it. Suephia's welcome was full of heart and authenticity. The owners have created a beautiful and stylish place in sympathy with their ancient fields, trees and many great stones. It was a pleasure to walk, sit, and meditate among gnarled old trees: oak, hawthorn, rowan, and hazel and then to have a private fire pit experience as the sun set and darkness fell. I made friends with The Deerstone doe and her daughter which was magical. I highly recommend The Deerstone — perfect in itself and a great base for walking in Glendalough. I look forward to my next stay. "
"Deerstone is a beautiful retreat in the Wicklow mountains but only 15 min walk from the village of Laragh . The shepherd hut accommodation was beautiful and had everything needed for the perfect stay. The staff are so helpful , friendly and provide amazing service . This is a little gem and we will definitely be back soon . "
Merci à toute l'équipe de the Deerstone ! "
"Top destination to enjoy Wicklow far from the madding crowd. The huts are very cute, great beds and fab finishings (great toiletries). You can see it is a women-run place - great attention to detail, a great buffett night of healthy and less healthy foods, but good varied and lovely atmosphere. The wood-fired little sauna with tree views is probably the best I have been to in my life. Same for the wood-fired outdoor barrel baths. Can t wait to go back."
"Magical place finished with impeccable taste. All enhanced by warm welcome and service excellence of Angela who made our stay so enjoyable "
"I was looking for somewhere to get away from things for a few days, wind down do some meditation and read in nature and quiet. This place provided all that and more. Along with the glamping experience it also offered some welcome luxuries like a daily sauna, cold tub and hot tub. If this wasn't enough the hospitality was second to none. Angela really took care of me and I was left wanting for nothing. Thanks so much guys for a wonderful experience. "
"Beautiful location, amazing decor. Went here for a retreat and came away feeling so rested. The sauna and ice baths are amazing. Food was top notch and the staff were helpful and so friendly. My only issue was with the shower. In the morning it was fab but late at night I found it hard to get hot water. That only happened once. Overall a fabulous stay. Would definitely return "
"The feel is pure country, although the village with pubs, shop, cafe, etc. is only minutes’ walk away and Glendalough is also within walking distance. We were in a shepherds hut-style unit, definitely the best of the type we've experienced in Europe: reasonably spacious, comfortable bed, fridge, decent cooking facilities and a usable shower/toilet arrangement. There are nice touches-dressing gowns, slippers, and so-on. Outside there is an electric barbecue, and, star of the show, a wood-fired hot tub for two. The grounds are beautiful, and dotted with extras- an exercise pool, saunas with cold plunge tubs, etc. Communications before arriving were excellent and our pre-ordered pizza was a treat after a long day's travel, as were the breakfast provisions.
There were a couple of niggles- the panel heater on the wall wasn't working, but they had a plug-in back-up. Price was perhaps a little high for what are-basically self-catering units in the countryside-but the surroundings and the facilities do put it at the top end of this market. The real test is would I go again, and the answer is a definite "yes"."
"We (my wife, our daughter, our springer spaniel andI) spent three wonderful days here recently. It was nothing less than idyllic. Highlights include the exceptionally and friendly staff, the quality and thought that has gone into the accommodation (a Shepherd’s Hut in our case), the wonderful saunas which will be made ready for you at very short notice, the personal hot tubs, the warm and welcoming Barn with its open fire and help yourself treats …. And much more besides. The Deerstone is ideal for a special family occasion and would be exceptional as a Retreat venue, but it is also really great for a couple or single family weekend away. Could not recommend it more highly. "
"Sheer bliss! There’s nowhere else like it.
We walked the hills then , bathed, heated ourselves and Cooled ourselves with all the kit! Had the most relaxing time. Electric bbqs are great and the cottages are stunning- we even had a deer visitor!"
"My friend and I stayed in the Shepherds Huts in Deerstone for two nights. The goal of the weekend was to relax and revive. Angela was there to take care of us and she was always so kind and could not have been more helpful. The accommodation was faultless and the hot tubs and sauna were just what we needed. I was so impressed that we were even given Epsom salts for our hot tubs! We had fresh brown bread, granola, eggs, tea, coffee and everything else we could need for breakfast in our huts. Also, tons of towels, dressing gowns, outdoor shoes and flip flops - everything has been thought about. The planting and layout of the Deerstone is sensitive to its surroundings and we were not overlooked.
If I was to be very picky I would say that it might have been handy to have somewhere covered to put our dressing gowns and towels whilst we were in our hot tub as it was raining.
In short - better than a 5 star hotel in my opinion and I will be returning for more.

"Beautiful grounds and surroundings. Love the high quality bedding and products and all the quality fittings in the cottage, especially the private hot tub! Only downside was a problem With the shower. Otherwise beautiful space, great food. Nice to be so close to home yet feel like a world away! "
"We spent two nights in The Shepherds Hut and it was absolutely amazing. The Deerstone is so tranquil, we hardly saw any other people but did see lots of nature and hear lots of birdsong. The weekend was very relaxing, particularly after a sauna and Japanese tub.
We will definitely be back!"
"This is a perfectly created place to unwind and relax in beautiful county Wicklow. The proximity of Glendalough also means you can go and enjoy it early before the tourists arrive. "
"From the minute you take the turn into the drive of The Deerstone the sense of calm and peace envelops you. Such a beautiful setting with incredible facilities and each detail has been so thoughtfully planned and captured to cater for your every need. The Nourish and Nature retreat was stunning, exactly what I needed & I didn’t want to leave. From the luxurious cottages, to the yoga, breathwork, saunas, forest bathing and the stunning food and massages I can’t wait to come back for my next stay. Thank you to the whole team for looking after me so well 🙏🏻❤️ Karen "
"Thank you so much for such a wonderful weekend. Really enjoyed the yoga, meditation and massage. The food was just delicious. Everyone was so lovely. Highly recommend a visit to the Deerstone! "
"The Deerstone is a lovely destination if you want to get away with friends or family. The cottages have been refurbished to a very high standard with lots of little details taken care of. The attached hot tubs and sauna are fun to use and a good way to relax amid the beautiful countryside. The kitchen is adequately supplied for cooking, and the welcome basket with breakfast goodies is a lovely touch.
I would definitely recommend and am looking forward to visiting again.

"Deerstone was everything we hoped for and so much more! It is an absolute haven of tranquility and it ticked all of the boxes for my partner and I. We are lovers of nature and the outdoors, yoga, and spa facilities (saunas, hot-tubs, plunge pools) and always seek out accommodation options that combine these things but it isn't easy to find. Deerstone has all of this and more! We loved how we could use the yoga studio and that props were there for our own practice- the studio overlooking the river is beautiful! We loved the fooseball table and the ping pong table- so much fun! It brought us back to our childhood playing these games. We adored the japanese soak tub (our very own one!) right outside the cabin door, the two different types of sauna and the cold water plunge pool- this was blissful for us after our daily hikes in the Wicklow mountains. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. They were so kind as to have homemade bread, tea and coffee, eggs, milk, butter, yogurt, and some preserves in the fridge for us on arrival. We loved the luxury of the bathrobes and slippers, the Voya products, and that every detail was so considered and thought out to ensure that we had all we needed so we could truly take in the retreat vibe of the place and not have to leave to pick up things. The pizza available on weekends was delicious! We enjoyed being able to cook in our hut too. We will definitely be back. Thank you so very much. What a beautiful place!"
