"I hardly know where to begin to describe my experience at Eleusinia. If you are serious about finding a solution to whatever ails you, this is the place! The term “facility” doesn’t do it justice; it's truly a home—a big, beautiful, cozy, and healing home where you feel safe and secure. The environment is designed to foster tranquility, with numerous private spots where you can be alone, surrounded by the healing embrace of nature.
Every aspect of your stay is taken care of here. The bedrooms are incredibly comfortable, and the meals are delicious. But what truly sets Eleusinia apart are the owners, Jessica and Jay, and their exceptionally well-curated staff. Each member of the team is grounded, caring, and genuine, dedicated to helping you find what you need.
This place offers something for everyone. They walk alongside you on your journey, providing assistance when needed and giving space when it's essential. Healing is a gradual process, and knowing you are safe and cared for as you move forward is priceless. Jessica, Jay, and their team have created something special at Eleusinia—a sanctuary born from their big, beautiful hearts, and I am deeply thankful that it exists.
I’m a second-time guest at Eleusinia, and I know I’ll be back."

"My wife and I just finished our third retreat at Eleusinia. As the clinical research proves what indigenous healers have known for eons, there are an ever increasing number of options for working with these amazing mushrooms, but they are not all created equal. The team at Eleusinia is extremely professional. The attention to detail is impeccable. The accommodations are luxurious and the food wonderful.
Most importantly, the intentionally diverse team is caring and compassionate in a way the restores your faith in humanity. Whether your thoughts on psilocybin are purely scientific or spiritual, you will feel completely at home. Though I have access to psilocybin at home and work with it regularly, I will keep coming back "home" to my Eleusinia family because the safe space they create and support they offer has allowed me to go deeper and make life-changing self discoveries. I am forever grateful. It can be scary to embark on this journey. The work is incredibly rewarding but equally difficult! If you are ready to heal, you will find no better or safer place."
"I don't even know where to start. This is a 5 star review only because there's no option to go higher. I cannot imagine that there exists a better psilocybin retreat anywhere in the world. Upon arrival you will be made to feel like part of a large extended loving and caring family. Every single detail has been thought of. The level of passion that the team put into this endeavor is unparalleled. I've never felt such support from people I've just met. I don't really want to give anything away as everything needs to be experienced to be believed. But in the strongest terms possible, this is the highest praise I will ever leave in a review. My life is forever changed. Thank you to everyone at Eleusinia for EVERYTHING!"

"I concur with what everyone else has said about their experience at Eleusinia. The caring and supportive staff, beautiful accommodations and grounds, delicious food, the tools you are given to be successful at continuing the journey that brought you to Eleusinia and the bonding that goes on between participants and staff are unforgettable.
One thing I learned is that if you come with an expectation of what you will experience or what will come up, toss that out the window because you cannot predict it. Nothing came up that I thought would, things that needed to come up did.
It was clear that everyone had a different and life-changing experience. After we took the macrodose, which we did in an area called “the nest”, we were encouraged to leave it once we felt any effects and go to the beautiful area outside of the nest and let the medicine start working. Not exactly sure what happened in my case. I had the most healing experience of my entire life that changed my outlook completely but I never left the nest. I tried, but I just couldn’t, because I felt so safe there. I was never left alone. Someone was always right there by my side. I was surprised that I did not have any visual
or auditory experiences, but instead I cried for about 6-7 hours. Although I cannot remember every single thing, I can remember many things that I have been holding on to for years that I didn’t realize I was. The person I am today is a person I have never known my whole life. I’ve endured many traumas since childhood and well into adulthood and they impacted every aspect of my life. Somehow I got lucky and finally had everything I could ask for like a loving and supportive husband and children, in addition to a very comfortable life, but I couldn’t appreciate it because I didn’t know how to. Now I do. My family is not entirely sure how to take all this in quite yet, although they are very happy. Previously, their actions revolved around what my mood was each day, and now they can breathe. It’s a process, but a good one. I am very fortunate to have the support of my family as well as my doctor, who actually encouraged me to come, and he and I will be working on a plan for me to wean off many of the medications I’ve been on for years that never seemed to help me live a somewhat normal life anyway.
Every single staff member at Eleusinia was patient, comforting, and supportive. It was like being in a cocoon the entire stay.
While visiting Eleusinia is not going to solve all of your problems, it certainly will give you a jumpstart of putting you in the right mindset to help reverse self-destructive thoughts or negative behaviors so that you can continue to work on being the best person you can be. We will never be without problems, because well, life. However, I have found with this wonderful medicine that I can navigate life better, and when struggles come up, I can cope with them more effectively than I ever could before. At least this has been my experience.
I cannot thank the staff at Eleusinia enough. Everyone was absolutely wonderful. I will be forever grateful to Jessica, Jay, Josefina, Tawnya, Karen, Roger, Madai, and a most special shout out to Emilio.
The housekeeping and kitchen staff, as well as the masseuse, also make the experience just perfect. I hope I’m not forgetting anyone. Every need is taken care of.
I will also never forget the nine other wonderful people I went through this experience with.
One participant told me something that I won’t forget and really summed up my experience. He said when I arrived, I looked like I was holding my breath for a very long time and that by the end I looked so relaxed and peaceful. I did not notice it physically, but I definitely felt it emotionally.
Thank you again to the Eleusinia staff, and I will be returning next year!"
"Extraordinary…so extraordinary that I am compelled to write my first review in 53 years. I attended the January 2024 retreat. The entire program is designed with YOU and your individual needs as Eleusinia’s top priority. The retreat was a flawless blend of science, pleasure and spirituality. The staff flowed together as a unit yet had individual strengths and impeccable credentials. The food and accommodations were superb. Bonus! The grounds are breathtaking, exotic and incredibly private. I went in with a mixture of healthy cynicism and waning hope. Eleusinia curated an experience for me that greatly lessened the pain I have incurred from a chronic pain condition that I have suffered from for 6 years…6 years of countless doctor appointments, zero answers and failed traditional medicine. If you are reading this…and you are suffering…I highly encourage you to reach out to Jessica personally. They are incredibly responsive. She has so much knowledge and compassion and her personal suffering led her down this path to help others. That’s a rare find and I wish I had done it sooner. My heart is full and my head is clear so I may now move forward with my life. Godspeed."
"I spent a significant amount of time researching potential psilocybin retreats that would create a safe space for me to explore some personal challenges I have been experiencing over the last few years. I found Eleusinia’s blend of science and spirituality to be most appealing to my rational mind and my desire to understand what’s going on inside my mind and heart.
Jessica and her team blew me away with their professionalism, warmth, and the safety they created for myself and fellow guests to be vulnerable and delve into the experience.
Apart from the incredible staff, three things stood out to me compared to other retreats and why I would recommend this to anyone seeking more than just a week of expanding their consciousness.
First, the reverse-pyramid dosing, breathwork, and DMT interval. I personally appreciated the macro dose at the beginning of the retreat as it allowed me to immediately dive in and uncover things I could spend the next few days exploring. The DMT in the middle of the week provided an additional vehicle for exploring my consciousness and other forms of medicine that I may want to experience in the future. The breathwork and analytical meditation sessions were as profound (for me) as the medicinal sessions themselves.
Second, the cultivation class and education took a practical approach to providing long-term support after the retreat is over, should one continue to use this medicine for health reasons.
Finally, I know they’re about to move into an even more impressive location, but the hospitality, house, landscape, and temperature (this is super important for those with hydration issues) lent itself to the bubble-like, but absolutely beautiful and serene retreat experience I needed.
An honorable mention goes to the VR experience. I was skeptical, as I believe this medicine should be used to bring us closer to nature, but I found it to be very relaxing and a great way for my post-dosing plastic brain to experience a sense of play and wonder.
A million stars for this experience! It was so well-curated, and I couldn’t recommend it enough for anyone feeling stuck, in pain, or needing a reset. While I’m not a completely changed person, I did find the version of myself I have been seeking for a long time."
"As a survivor of child abuse and now suffering from fibromyalgia (plus the chronic migraines and depression that comes along with it), I've tried everything. I knew when the suicidal ideations became more frequent, it was time to think outside the box and reach outside my comfort zone. I had researched psychedelic retreats for awhile but kept returning to Eleusinia as the best option given the level of professionalism and knowledge.
Eleusinia was such a profound, powerful healing experience. I'm overflowing with gratitude toward the team that guided us through the week. Never in my wildest dreams did I think DMT would be thing that could stop my chronic, debilitating migraines in it's tracks! Who knew?! Well, Jessica that's who!
The attention to every detail: the schedule, integration, food, and activities were just perfect. The Eleusinia staff are all-around wonderful humans who really know their stuff. There wasn't a moment I didn't feel safe and supported. The staff was so open, warm and happy to share their own inspirational experiences with us. The lively dinner conversations will stay with me forever. In fact, much of what I found so beneficial about the retreat were the deep, meaningful chats I had with both the staff and the other guests. It really helped me process my psilocybin and DMT experiences, as well as past trauma. I loved that no one took themselves too seriously; there were just as many belly laughs as there were healing tears. The experience was emotionally intense at times but also a lot of fun! I developed such close relationships with the other guests after only a few days. We miss one another already but have connected online and want to plan a future reunion trip (both literally and figuratively 🍄😆).
I think the world would become a better place if more people would open their hearts and minds to plant medicine and I highly recommend Eleusinia to kick-start one's psychedelic journey. I feel such an enormous amount of privilege and gratitude that I got to experience it with a supportive team in a such a magical setting. ❤️"
"I began my psychedelic journey on Google, as I assume most do, and was quickly drawn in by the possibility of help with some deep-rooted and maladaptive mental/emotional issues, as well as chronic pain management. The idea of exploring my consciousness and challenging my existing intellectual precepts was also intriguing. As a natural skeptic with strong materialist leanings, I was afraid the typical psychedelic retreats I was reading about would bog me down with spiritual and mystical baggage that I would find counter-productive. I was excited about neural plasticity and suppressing the Default Mode Network, not chants and spirit-play. Thus my excitement about running across Eleusinia, a “science-based psilocybin retreat” in their own words.
My experience at Eleusinia was extraordinary. Since each person’s journey is unique, I’ll not waste time recounting mine. What I will say is that if you heed the importance of “Set” and “Setting”, this place is beyond compare. Rather than an AirBNB someplace, the Eleusinia campus spreads across some 100 acres of lush, beautiful Mexican rainforest, meaning all sessions were held outdoors in perfect weather. The Eleusinia staff worked with us beforehand to create the proper mindset, and stayed with us as our trips unfolded. I can’t describe how important the staff’s active involvement was during the trips as well as afterwards as we engaged in the integration process. I found it easy to connect with and benefit from the professionals Jess has assembled, and without exception they were dedicated and caring and nurturing.
Accommodations were first-rate….as impressive as the grounds, and the meals were superb. All in all, I can’t imagine any way to improve on the Eleusinia program, and I fully intend to re-visit sometime next year."
"Eleusinia is beyond compare. I spent an incredible amount of time researching retreats. I was interested in finding someplace to send my son to help with his depression. I chose Eleusinia because they are a science based retreat rather than just a one time spiritually based psychedelic experience. I had no idea what to expect. I WAS ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY. I had hoped I might find some help me with anxiety and chronic pain I was dealing with, but I kept my expectations low. Well, it has it helped with those issues and then some. It has completely changed the course of my life. I have come home a different person.
The accommodations, food, and staff are 5 star. There was nothing more I could have asked for and they came up with things I didn't't know I wanted. The rooms are immaculate and the food was amazing.
The staff......They are so welcoming and interested in making sure you are as comfortable as possible. They did everything they could to make sure everyone had the best experience possible. They all are extremely knowledgable and have an incredible ability and explain everything in a fun, easy to understand manner. The program they have put together is so well thought out. I was very impressed.
I will be going back and my son will be going soon."
"My wife and I just returned from our second visit to Eleusinia. I wish “plant”medicine work was more normalized because it is safe and can be life changing. Mushrooms will not solve your problems overnight but they are an incredibly powerful tool that can help us do deep healing work quickly. It can be as effective as years of therapy in a day. Whether you are a healthy normal person looking to experience altered states of consciousness or someone dealing with severe anxiety or depression, the team at Eleusinia is just wonderful. Loving, compassionate, human. Though I now regularly work with mushrooms at home, I will continue to return to Eleusinia because their support, guidance and most of all their love help me to be vulnerable enough to face the really hard stuff. I have much work left to do but I am on the healing path. Facing and healing your pain is the hardest and most rewarding work you can do. If you are considering a psilocybin retreat, I can’t recommend Eleusinia highly enough! They are like family to us.
Side note: if you are into birds, the area is a birders paradise so bring your optics."
"Taking a hero’s dose of mushrooms is a daunting prospect, and I wouldn’t have wanted to do that anywhere other than Eleusinia. It seems that every detail was masterfully well-planned. There are many opportunities to change your experience and scenery from VR goggles to headphones to a variety of comfy places to sit or lie down including a… I don’t remember what they called it, but I called it a bat cave – a dark, cool, terra cotta igloo-type structure. From the founder to the lovely gentleman who lit a fire in my fireplace every night, the entire staff was filled with compassion, experience, and knowledge. I felt entirely safe and well-tended to.
At every meal, I felt as if I were dining in a 5-star vegetarian restaurant. The 100-acre grounds were so beautiful.
Even though one of their goals is to educate and equip you so fully that you need not return, I will likely return as many others have, hopefully with friends and family in tow."
"This retreat is an experience of a lifetime. What makes it unique is the empowerment it provides to guests, the knowledge it imparts about the science of psychedelics, and the caring loving container that is formed by all of the Eleucinia staff. My only disappointment is that I waited so long to come here as I am 78 years old."
"It's been less than a month since I returned home from Eleusinia and I am already wanting to go back. I spent a night on each end of the retreat in a hotel in Mexico City because I was unable to arrive and depart along the van departure schedule. That worked out fine and I felt safe, even as a woman traveling alone in Mexico. The van ride was uneventful and easy and gave the guests time to begin connecting and getting to know each other a little bit. From the moment the staff greeted us upon arrival until the moment we left with heartfelt tears and hugs, I have never felt more cared for in my life. The Macro dose was more intense than I expected, I expected a sense of unfolding and instead found myself unraveling which was frightening at first. Once I let go and released control, the changes in my brain were and still are powerful. My DMT experience was so healing and the highlight of the retreat. While there are three, sometimes four different psychedelic experiences during the five day retreat, the breathwork, integration, classes, massages, time spent reflecting and talking to the staff and other guests was equally as important as the medicines. The staff were diverse but every single one of them provided a level of authentic loving care that was unexpected and delightful. Josephina, Tawnya, and Emilio were incredibly present and devoted to providing each guest with the healing they needed. Jessica and Jay (the owners) kept everyone focused on the neuroscience behind these medicines, teaching and preparing us for how they can heal each quest physically and spiritually. I particularly enjoyed the freedom to share as much as each of us wanted to share, there were no circles where each person was required to speak about why they were there. The bonds we built over the five days were organic and unforced. With a doctor, a nurse, and a psychologist on site I felt physically and psychologically safe at every moment. Honestly, every single moment of the experience was perfectly curated, even the availability of anti-nausea medicines. The food was delicious, I never felt I needed to ask for a snack because there was something yummy every moment. The first morning there was a spread of fruit, yogurt, and baked goods sitting out and I mistakenly thought that was breakfast and gobbled it up only to discover those were simply the pre-breakfast goodies and a homemade egg extravaganza was coming soon. Each night, after a long day, I would return to my room to find a beautiful fire had been built in my fireplace and my bed had been turned down for me. Lastly, the grounds were magical, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. During the mini-dose on the last day, we had a rainstorm that lasted a couple of hours and I will never forgot lying in the nest watching the rain fall while covered in blankets with a roaring fire behind me. OH AND THE GUACAMOLE...IYKYK. If you are looking for a psychedelic retreat, I can't imagine a better one than Eleusinia."
"I was going through life feeling as though enjoyment was simply not a part of it. Despite having expectations of how I should feel, I rarely experienced any positive emotions, even in moments when I knew I should have. I had reasoned with my past traumatic experiences enough to function day to day, build a family, and even run a successful business, but I always felt like I was carrying an unnecessary burden—as if something bad could happen at any moment.
Eleusinia caught my attention because of its science-based approach. The location is stunning, the preparation was thorough, and the team is warm and helpful—nothing about the experience felt strange or off. I was initially skeptical about the vegetarian meals, but the food was fantastic! The therapy itself, despite my doubts, was mind-blowing. It required a lot of work and processing, but the concept of “shuffling the deck” to help your brain update old models of perception and release unnecessary past burdens made perfect sense.
I feel lighter, joyful again, more present in the moment, and much more attentive to the world around me rather than being stuck in my own head. Don't hesitate—Eleusinia will change your life for the better!"
"This was the absolute best most comprehensive experience I have ever had on such a retreat. Everything was top notch, the location, the food, the staff, etc... .
For location, it is in a beautiful fairly secluded upper-valley area. Not only did this make the whole experience both feel very personal (as opposed to being in say a condo in a resort town as many retreats are) it was also naturally gorgeous and felt deep in nature which really aided the experience. Perhaps most importantly it also meant I didn't have to feel guilty about the prospect of disturbing any neighbors when I was laughing uncontrollably with loud, joyous, maniacal laughter for hours while high on a most fascinating psilocybin journey there.
The food was fantastic. I am not vegetarian (and tend to be a bit carnivorous) and the retreat only offers vegetarian options, but it was so delicious I never felt wanting for meat at a single meal. As Jessica pointed out while there, they aren't even opposed if you bring your own "Slim Jims" or the like for yourself if you are really desperate for meat. The vegetarian focus was apparently the result of certain previous guests suddenly getting a bit upset after having a sufficiently "oneness with everything" experience and then being presented with food prepped with some animal flesh at a subsequent meal in older versions of the retreat.
The staff is all incredibly understanding, supportive, friendly, and flexible and bend over backwards to try and help you get what you want out of the retreat. Importantly, the perspectives and backgrounds of the staff are highly varied and covers just about all aspects of these experiences. For example, Jessica focuses very strongly on the medical and scientific end of these experiences and is exceptionally well read and familiar with all the associated scientific and medical literature. From there the staff's perspectives extends through individuals with all different specializations or significant hobbies in everything ranging from philosophy, Buddhist and other meditative practices, to Josefina who is an authentic Curandera focusing on the spiritual end of traditional native psilocybin mushroom use. As a result, I found that integration after any experience was as rich and even deeper than the experience itself -- one could approach understanding and digesting their journeys from any possible angle with the right staff member, or one could get as much as one could handle from all the different angles with many different staff members one on one over time. I did the latter and that was fantastic, everything from Jessica picking apart the odd logic (or perhaps irrational un-logic) of my recounted experience and the metaphors I struggled to put together for it, through Frank discussing it with me philosophically and metaphysically, and finally to Josefina helping me try to understand the possible spiritual interpretations and dimensions to it.
My only regret in these regards is that there were a few more staff I would have loved to talk through some of my experience to get their unique angles on such things but I ran out of time. Even though the retreat was fully flexible with what everyone wanted to do individually there just was too much to do if one wanted to do it all and talk to everyone about everything without rushing. There really is nothing I can think of for legitimate criticism of this retreat, but if I want to put my "grumpy critic" hat on, I could whine that it was a bit too short to really try everything and fully talk to everyone at full length about everything at a leisurely pace.
The group size was very good. It was small enough that I think we were less than 2 to 1 with staff, which gave us an almost one on one experience with an incredible amount of personal attention basically equal to whatever we wanted whenever we wanted. Then at the same time the group was large enough though that there were always plenty of other participants to talk to and one didn't feel "on the spot" or the like.
The whole retreat was fully flexible for our experiences. Nothing was enforced, and while certain things had to happen when they had to happen, lots of flexibility was added to the timing of many things as ones personal experience required. No one stopped you from wandering around being as ridiculous on your own wild ride as you liked, and yet at the same time they had a good eye on you making sure you didn't do anything regrettable or hurtful/dangerous to yourself or others. For those snagged in "low valence" experiences the staff was ready on call to try and help you improve your journey's situation at a moments notice. Meanwhile for those who were "in the zone" as I found myself, the staff let me ride it as I liked checking in regularly mostly only to keep me hydrated and see if I wanted or needed anything else whether that was food, shelter, or just to talk. More really could not reasonable have been asked of their support in this and they gave incredible freedom at the same time.
The quality of the actual medicinal products are top notch as well. Jessica personally attends to the growing, extraction, purification, etc... of all of them with a focused dedication and her meticulous-minded personality. You can take the growing courses and extraction courses on the retreat yourself to not only learn her honed methods, but also to get a peek behind the scenes at the care and quality/purity concerns that she personally puts into all the products that are used at Eleusinia -- they are significant.
Jessica, and the others maintaining and recreating Eleusinia, seem to have thought of absolutely everything: all possible wants, all possible angles, all possible errors and safety concerns, etc... and have a means to accommodate it all with complete flexibility and a smile. Quite a feat when you come to see how chaotic even a small group of complete strangers can be while off on a mushroom journey in a secluded area. Eleusinia is a hugely overlooked gem, and if it gets wider recognition for its quality and what it is, it will probably book up for like years in advance, so get in while you can. Actually ignore that, ITS MINE, ALL MINE, GO AWAY."
"Jessica is a wonderful guide to treating refractory (resistant to treatment) migraines, cluster headaches, and trigeminal neuralgias, two of which I have, with psilocybin. She’s generous, patient, candid, responsive, and knowledgeable. There’s no question too small or silly for Jessica, and she addresses each one with caring and respect. She has been a godsend to me and I recommend her without hesitation to anyone else in need of relief from pain or other suffering.
I would have been lost without Jessica's guidance, especially since I've never had more than two glasses of wine (and that very rarely) in my life, and no experience with psilocybin. I would have given up much earlier than I did if I didn't have her to guide me, since with the severity of my conditions I didn't see results until after a number of sessions. Without her encouragement and guidance, it would have been very easy to give up, and then I wouldn't have had the positive results I had after more sessions. I'm not yet back to where I was before I had my concussion (the onset of my conditions) but I am much better!
She also made sure each session/trip was as comfortable as it could be, especially for inexperienced me.
One note: I had tried too many treatments to name, from multiple prescribed pharmaceuticals to vestibular/physical therapy to cognitive behavioral therapy to countless OTC medicines and natural supplements to acupuncture to chiropractic to hard tissue massage (ouch) to learning how to meditate to oxygen to... well, the list goes on. And on. And on. This was over a period of nearly two years. There was NO stone I left unturned in my determination to get better.
P.S. Due to COVID-19, the in-person retreat wasn't available within the timeframe I needed (which was ASAP), so I took the remote coaching sessions. "
