About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Brenda has been working with her hands since she was a kiddo, always creating and blessed with a family that encouraged learning and curiosity. She has been working in fiber since 1976, starting with embroidery and stitching, sewing, quilting. She earned her BA at Columbia College in Chicago, with a concentration in Typography and Graphic Design. In 2011, Brenda was offered the opportunity to home two alpaca, and as they say, the rest is history! Currently, after moving to Sautee from Valparaiso Indiana in 2020, Brenda has two fiber-producing Pygora Goats (Pygmy+Angora breed) and also shares a working studio in Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia. (The Playground) At Fiber Arts: A Working Studio, Brenda offers The 3 C's: Classes, Creativity, and Collaboration!” “I have experience in teaching elementary thru elderly. Sharing and watching the process and transformation of wet felting, or creating anything, with others really brings me such joy. I’m fairly certain it can be contagious.” We hope you can spend some time learning with Brenda. Her basic philosophy for life is: It’s all about playing, learning, sharing and asking the “what if’s.” It is about having fun, being gracious to yourself and others. “Come Play!”
