Sofia Bollati

About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Her work explores how meaning emerges through contact, embodied awareness, and lived experience. Sofi holds a degree in Psychology in Mexico. As part of her clinical training, she trained as a Gestalt therapist at the Centro Gestáltico de San Isidro (CGSI), specializing in the Field Theory approach within the New York lineage of Gestalt therapy. She is currently completing a Master’s degree in Existential Therapy at CIREX – Círculo de Estudios Existenciales in Mexico, where she also completed advanced training in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy.

Her work centers on the therapeutic integration of expanded states of consciousness, with a particular interest in their transformative potential when supported within a careful and ethically grounded framework. Throughout her professional path, she has participated in international therapeutic settings and experiential retreats, including work related to holotropic breathwork and other practices that explore expanded states of consciousness.

In addition to her psychological training, she also trained as a yoga teacher in New York City and maintains an ongoing meditation practice. Her work integrates somatic awareness, breathwork, and trauma-informed perspectives. She understands contact as a living experience through which new meanings and possibilities for transformation can emerge.

In her clinical practice, she works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and feelings of emptiness—people who may feel lost or disconnected from themselves and their sense of vitality, as well as those who, despite having reached important milestones in their professional lives, experience a sense of inner disconnection from their own experience. Sofi is particularly interested in the relationship between presence, pleasure, and embodied experience, and in the role of pauses and slowing down in processes of integration and transformation.

Her intention is to hold a space where individuals can meet their experiences with honesty and openness, allowing the complexities of life to be integrated in a more conscious and meaningful way, while cultivating openness to the possibility of wonder.
