About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Jan is a yoga teacher and innerdance facilitator who currently lives in France. Before she discovered the practice of yoga, she was an art teacher, photographer, marketing executive, and Filipino martial arts teacher.

Like many, yoga for Jan began as a purely physical practice. A way to stay fit and active. But that changed at the first yoga teacher training she attended where she was introduced to the “Heart of Yoga” practice from the lineage of Sri Krishnamacharya. She learned the importance of personalizing the experience of yoga for each unique individual even in a group setting.

It was also during this time that she first experienced spontaneous kundalini kriyas which made her body move in ways that she could observe from a detached perspective. This experience led her to dive deeper into the traditional practices of yoga and tantra which inform all her classes and offerings.

When she discovered innerdance, a practice from the Philippines that uses sound, and physical and energetic touch, she found it to be the missing link between her asana practice and embodying yoga as union of body, mind, and spirit.

To honour her heritage, she has also studied Hilot, the traditional spiritual and healing arts from the Philippines. She was also a teacher and practitioner of the martial art Pekiti Tirsia Kali.

Today, her offerings are a blend of asana, mantra, innerdance, music, art, and the intuitive ancestral wisdom of her cultural roots from the Philippines.

Jan is a certified yoga teacher (200 and 500 hours), Reiki master, Hilot practitioner, and innerdance facilitator. But more important than any piece of paper, she is a lifelong student of yoga who is passionate about sharing the wisdom that has helped transform her life.
