Why study with them?

Eric Akbar Manolson (Yehezkel Shmuel ben Lev Ya’acov ha Levi) grew up in Montréal, Québeec, Canada. As soon as he could after high school, he moved to the country and discovered the teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan on music and sound. While developing his musical and business career, he studied and performed with the renowned late rabbi, Shlomo Carlebach. He was asked by Shahabuddin Less to lead the Dances in 1975 and has continued to do so since that time, sharing them in many parts of the world.

Eric was the coordinator of a program that brought over 35 multicultural events to Atlanta, Georgia during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. In 1999, he travelled with his children from Jerusalem to Egypt (Mizraim) and back. On the same trip, he was asked to guide a workshop on the theme of 'Peace through the Arts' for a group of young Israelis and Palestinians.

Eric has studied the Lord’s Prayer in the original Aramaic language and has created a CD of ‘healing piano’ music based on its melodies. Eric is an active member of The Abrahamic Reunion and has been to the Holy Land 5 times to spend time with his younger brother Avraham, and his wife Gila, both respected teachers living in Jerusalem.

Eric Akbar Manolson is the founder of The  Manolson Approach. Its mission is to train family members of people with Alzheimer’s how to communicate in a profound way with their loved ones through music.  He lives in the beautiful Eastern Townships region of Québec, just above the Vermont border.
