TAITA SEBASTIAN
Taita Sebastián comes from this ancient lineage of the Kofan taitas in the Colombian - Ecuatorian Putumayo. His father and grandfather were taitas (known to us as shamans) as well as their fathers and grandparents. From the age of 12, he has been instructed and trained as a shamanic healer and spiritual guide. He has now been working as a Taita for approximately 50 years.
He is considered by the Kofans to be a “curaka” or “surgeon” amongst the natives of his tribe and other tribes, meaning he is a high-level Taita, healer, shamanic guide, and master of other taitas.
Personally, if I had to use 3 words to describe him they would be sweetness, strength, and humility.
TAITA IN OUR LIVES
We don't promote idolatry of any sort. Having said that, we must ascertain there are masters of their art and Taita Sebastian is one of them. It's no surprise why he is so renowned and praised in his path, and is teaching several other taitas. He has helped transform the lives of many, both regular folk like you and me as well as other taitas.
Ayahuasca can heal you and bring about beautiful changes, there is no doubt about that, however, when there is a person like Taita Sebastian working with the Aya, the power and benefits are magnified.
¿WHAT IS TAITA?
In Kofan cultures, Taita is the shaman and medicine man who will guide and heal you in your ayahuasca journey. He is the person who has been properly instructed by other Taitas, or ELDERS for this purpose.
In turn, there are degrees of Taitas like “curaka” (coo-rah-ka), which can be translated from kofan as “surgeon”. Curakas or surgeons are the most specialized and respected type of Taitas within the Putumayo cultures.

Descanse is an ancient lineage of Taitas (or shamans) from the Kofan people, an ancient indigenous tribe from the Colombian and Ecuadorian Putumayo, in the Amazon Basin. This very ancient lineage of Taitas has been working with ayahuasca for millennia to “find spiritual growth, healing and a connection with the Divine Mother and Creator”, says Taita Sebastian.
