Madaline Riley

Madaline Riley is a dancer, painter, choreographer, and director who was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and is currently based in Los Angeles, CA. She believes storytelling is one of the most profound tools for transformation, and most of her performances and visual artworks tend to be autobiographical in nature or aim to serve a cathartic purpose. As a dancer and actor, she is constantly exploring new emotions to use in her work, which often begins as creative writing and then evolves into expressive, kinesthetic movement that naturally transforms into painting. She sometimes incorporates everyday objects as well, such as personal notes, receipts, shreds of clothing, or photographs.
 
She has exhibited work at The Brand Library and Art Center, MiM Gallery Los Angeles, Leimin Space (Chinatown), Laband Art Gallery, Arts at Blue Roof, Laputa Art Center (Shanghai), LunaFactory (DTLA), and more. As a choreographer, she has collaborated with artists such as Kaytranada, Ivy Lab, and Zheani. As an actor and dancer, she has appeared in projects for Lady Gaga, Urban Decay Cosmetics, Puma x Balmain, Sam Smith, A24, and others. She has also contributed to pieces for the JOAT Festival International de Street Dance and Den Norske Opera & Ballett, and has competed in numerous dance competitions across the U.S. and Europe.
