About the Teacher
Why study with them?
The last 6 years or so I’ve been travelling the USA and growing organic veggies on various farms, living in residential Zen monasteries, and working in restaurants with an eye on the intersection of food, spirituality, and community. Turns out, there is so much diversity in people, place and ecosystem within our reach when we choose to move beyond what we know… From New Mexico to Hawaii, Georgia, Montana, New Hampshire, and most recently California, this life adventure continues to awe and inspire me as a person and a farmer.
My solo-wanderer journey ended when I met Leah while serving as Farm Manager at The San Fransico Zen Center, one of California’s oldest organic farms. We expanded the sprinter van’s sleeping cabin and set out north to British Columbia. I absolutely love it here! We are currently amidst the process of immigrating in hopes of one day stewarding some land and growing food for a community we feel resonance with.
When not tending the soil, I love riding my motorcycle, tinkering with mechanics, cooking, and chopping kindling. In the off season, you’ll find me reading or writing by a fire or on the slopes.
