For over 20 years, Michele built her sales and marketing career in the real estate industry. It was everything she thought she wanted until 2018 when multiple health scares rearranged the priorities in her life. She realized her career was no longer serving the growth she desired. During her illness, essential oils and herbs provided a better quality of life than her pharmaceutical prescriptions. After experiencing the healing benefits, she was hooked and had to learn more! Scheduled to graduate in the Spring of 2023 as a Master Aromatherapist from the American College of Healthcare Sciences, Michele is excited to create clean, natural, + sustainable body and hair care products offered at Desert Lotus Apothecary.
Becoming a Certified Master Aromatherapist or Certified Clinical Aromatherapist is important to Michele because there is a lot of misinformation floating around about essential oils. Some of it is even harmful. To become a Certified Master Aromatherapist or Certified Clinical Aromatherapist, a specific level of professional education is required. Experience interpreting and conducting medical case studies, medical research, and a deep understanding of chemical constituents and how they interact with the body are a few. Many essential oils have a small therapeutic margin, meaning, there is a fine line between beneficial and harmful. This is why it is important to work with trained aromatherapists who understand the therapeutic margin, an individual's physical condition, and possible complications for each essential oil recommended. An educated aromatherapist is going to have the resources needed to provide safe beneficial products and wellness plans.
