Nishaant Singh, diciple of Pandit Chanchal Kumar Bhattacharya is the most promising Pakhawaj Player and the torch bearer of Lala Keval Kishan Gharana- Bengal Parampara in this present generation. Nishaant Singh, son of 'ShreeMaadal Aacharya' PadmaShri Awardee Kaajee Singh, is a Pakhawaj artiste born and brought up in the Musicians family in Kalimpong, Darjeeling. He belongs to a famous Traditional Folk Musical Family, carrying out the lineage since the last four generations. His Grandfather was an extremely knowledgeable legendary Shree-Maadal Player from Darjeeling named ShreeMaadal Aacharya Late Indrajeet Singh Sardaar. Presently, Nishaant stays at Kolkata serving as a Guest Professor of Pakhawaj in the Department of Cultural Affairs, VidyaMandira College, Ramakrishna Mission, BelurMath, Kolkata, India.
