Rev. Shawn Sanford Beck

About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Ordained for almost 20 years, Shawn has been designing and leading adult and youth study programs for his whole career.  Until several years ago, he was the Education and Training Officer for the Anglican Diocese of Saskatoon, and designed and facilitated St. Brigit's School of Discipleship (training volunteer priests, deacons, and lay ministers).  He has been an online instructor and sessional lecturer for a number of courses in the Saskatoon Theological Union, and is currently the Recruitment Officer at St. Andrew's College.  He has facilitated monthly full moon ceremonies for interfaith communities for over a decade, and has taught Sophian Druidry and Green Priestcraft in a number of different formats and settings, including online. He has written and reflected extensively on ecological and interfaith spirituality (https://www.johnhuntpublishing.com/christian-alternative-books/our-books/christian-animism), and blogs at https://ecosophian.wordpress.com/.  You can also get a sense of him on Tapestry https://www.cbc.ca/radio/tapestry/not-doing-religion-by-the-book-1.4547318 and in the United Church’s magazine Broadview https://broadview.org/shawn-sanford-beck/  At heart, he is a theological educator, and nothing gives him more joy than facilitating transformative learning events for spiritual pilgrims!
