About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Marco Tulio Muñoz Macanilla, a top-tier healer, embodies the very essence of ancestral wisdom and healing traditions of the Colombian Amazon. Born on December 14, 1972, in the border region of Puerto Leguizamo, Putumayo, and Amazonas departments, this distinguished traditional healer hails from the indigenous reserve of Cecilia Cocha, belonging to the Kichwa people.
His lineage is nothing short of remarkable: a descendant of a family of ancestral doctors and renowned healers, Marco Tulio is connected to the Huitotos Muruy culture through his father, the respected Taita curaca Isaias Muñoz Caimito. On the maternal side, his roots extend to the Kichwa people of the Napo River region in Ecuador, with his mother, Margarita Macanilla, descending from the ancient Inca civilizations. This dual heritage positions him as a true heir to two great Amazonian cultures: Muruy-Kichwa.
From his early years, Marco Tulio has been initiated into the mysteries of nature and spiritual life, particularly through the sacred Ayahuasca (Yagé) medicine. His commitment to ancestral knowledge began at a young age, taking Yagé at 4 or 5 years old under the guidance of his parents and maternal grandparents. This deep immersion in natural and spiritual medicine has allowed him to understand and preserve the wisdom passed down by his ancestors, making him the guardian of the sacred Yagé ceremony and ancient healing chants.
Over more than 40 years, Marco Tulio has actively participated in ceremonies and community gatherings, both in his hometown of Puerto Leguizamo and in cities across Colombia and Europe, including Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Lithuania, and Estonia. His unique and pleasant experiences have left an indelible mark on all those privileged to share space with him.
Currently, Marco Tulio is completing his studies in law, specializing in labor law and social security at the Republicana University Corporation in Bogotá. His commitment extends beyond the realm of ancestral medicine; he also actively works in training new leaders, strengthening indigenous organizations, culture, and self-education.
As part of his social work, Marco Tulio leads a group focused on recovering young people trapped in addiction through Yagé medicine and other ancestral practices, achieving an impressive 99.9% effectiveness. His comprehensive approach to physical, mental, and spiritual healing is presented as a valuable and necessary tool for today's society.
With a message of "STRENGTH, PEACE, LOVE, WISDOM, RESPECT, UNITY, and FAITH," Marco Tulio Muñoz Macanilla stands as a beacon of light, guiding those seeking harmony with nature and themselves. His presence is a blessing, and his contribution to the community and the world is immeasurable. As a facilitator at @shamanzon on retreat.gurú, Marco Tulio provides exclusive access to authentic Kichwa indigenous medicine and the wisdom accumulated over generations.
