About the Teacher

Why study with them?

My name is Rudy Salas, apprentice and follower of the indigenous tradition of yage. I have 10 years of learning on the paths of yage science with the cofan ethnic group, in the jungles of Putumayo (Colombia). I have been learning from the hand of Taita Oscar Giovany Quetta (nephew of Taita Querubin, elder and chieftain of the Cofan tribe). We have been learning to cook the sacred remedy of yage for 9 years, we have a history of 3 years doing ceremonies under the permission and blessing of our Taitas and teachers.

We have and are performing ceremonies in Venezuela, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Spain taking this legacy, tradition and culture to wherever the call is, for the healing of people who have in their hearts to attend to the call of medicine and to know this medicine of power as it is El Yage (also known worldwide as Ayahuasca)

I have a team that is always in the care of all the people who participate in the ceremony. My wife Lisbeth Urquia who will help the attendant women during the yage ceremony and also there will be musical harmonization with our brother of the medicine path and musician Carlos Chacon.

Our ceremonies are led by me, Rudy Salas, under the strict design of the Cofan Tirbe desing, with the traditional chants called Icaros, plants and cleansing instruments, perfumes and procedures. We also make use of a special medicine from the caxinawa tribe called rape. Which is a powder tabaco mixed with ashes from various tree barks.
