Claudine Penedo started practicing Kundalini yoga in 1999 and became a certified massage therapist in 2000.
She studied at the Shiatsu Massage School of California studying Shiatsu massage. Her curriculum included Chinese medicine, Meridian lines, Nutrition and Chi, as well as Deep Tissue, Sports Massage and Swedish massage! Claudine has completed 365 hours of training in Structural body work, Anatomy & Physiology pain and orthopedic evaluation, clinical study, deep Torsional movement and is police permitted to work in California. Her techniques leave you feeling integrated and are a well rounded combination of what suits her clients physiological and thera- peutic needs. She has worked closely with LPT and Orthopedic surgeons to ensure safe and structured resources to your recovery.
Claudine continued her studies of yoga , expanding her own practice to include other Hatha traditions and methodologies, such as Iyengar, Bikram, Yin, Vini and Anusara. Ultimately, Claudine received her RYT 200 hour certification through Black Dog Yoga’s teacher training program in 2010. She apprenticed under the respected Therapeutic yoga teacher Shari Goodhartz during 2013-2015, earning Claudine an additional 150 hours of private training. In 2017 she was recognized by In Yoga Center as one of the top notable yoga teachers in Los Angeles, instructing a developmental strategy for pain management. Claudine has worked with post-surgery students with disabilities like sciatica symptoms, scoliosis symptoms, as well as instructing rehabilitation through modified techniques that include Contra-Extension, (an activity technique designed by Shari Goodhartz) to strengthen weak muscle groups and stretch tight muscles. Claudine has a great regard for body movement, proprioception and critical thinking skills! She can help you stay structurally integrated with bodywork and create healthy solutions with new bio-mechanics that will change the way you perceive pain management. Claudine has worked with hundreds of multi-level students and many different age groups, from the seasoned yogi to the elderly, either with injuries or with underdeveloped body mechanics to help create a safe space to restructure their physical lives! She instructs her classes with the sound of her students' Prana while weaving philosophical yoga themes to expand and enhance your self awareness. Read More
