Why study with them?

Warren Buttery
is a senior yoga instructor with over two decades of experience in supporting communities affected by war or disaster. This accidental journey was to discover his yogic path has led him to become a teacher and healer on a grand scale within his humanitarian career. His journey has given him first-hand experience of true fear, healing through spirituality, and the duality within body/mind development.
Warren draws inspiration from his gurus and students for his newer and complementary influences of Sanatan (traditional Hatha), Kundalini Yoga, and alternative healing modalities. He is inpisred to share his practice through the understanding that yoga creates space in our bodies, minds, and hearts.
As a yoga leader, Warren supportively challenges beginners and intermediate practitioners with a sense of fun and deep feeling for the effects of asana and pranayama. His methodologies focus on minimal demonstration but maximum assistance. The focus of his classes is the renewal of the mind, refreshing of energy, and physical achievement. The traditional styles of Hatha and powerful Kundalini add a deeper dimension to typical Western yoga by fully incorporating breath, movement, and energy.
Warren's greatest achievement to date is his recovery from three spinal injuries, thanks to yoga and other healing practices.
Warren has extensive professional experience, including being a lead and support teacher for RYT200 and bi-weekly drop-in classes with a specific focus on Yogic Humanities;
Techniques, Training & Practices; and Professional Essentials at the Orion Healing Centre in Thailand since January 2020, whereas of April 2023, he has taught 25+ courses. He is also a lead and support teacher for RYT200 with a similiar foci on at La Casa Shambala, in Thailand since January 2022, whereas of April 2023, he has taught 15+ courses. Warren has also given rise to the development of a new yoga school in California, USA, by providing curriculum development support to Sukha Studios.
Warren's role as a teacher and advisor to his GuruJi (plus Retreat Management) at Nepal Yoga Academy has led him to lead the development of curriculums for 200, 300 & 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training (RYS) plus specialist yoga courses, including the development of training manuals; online presence & marketing; student support; and retreat staff development. He has been teaching at Nepal Yoga Academy for 18 months and has graduated 16 classes in that time and more over the years. He teaches Sanatan (traditional) Hatha and has developed the training curriculum for Anatomy & Physiology and created the school's first training manual. His Asana Guru, Dr Chintamani Gautum PhD (Sanskrit & Yoga Science), is a reference.
Warren's other passions include being the instigator and supporter of local alternative music and arts projects globally. He is the co-creator of #NepalBirthplaceofYoga, including the First Yoga Flash Mob in Nepal in 2016. He is also a member of the Management Team of the Sound Central Festivals, Afghanistan (2011 & 2012), Inside Out Kabul (2012), and Jam it! Myanmar (2013/2014). His goal is to support communities through yoga, music, and art for the purpose of healing, through their greatest hope - their youth!
Warren's core competencies, include motivational support for both beginners and intermediate practitioners, a keen sense of individual and group energies with an innate ability to expose yogis to the best within themselves, an understanding of client and student needs, both on and off the mat, yoga teacher training including (RYS) curriculum development, training manual development, and organisational change management. He is highly effective in building productive and lasting relationships with investors, communities, clients, and students.
