Costa Rica Slow Retreat
The retreat with Sandy was exceptional! It's quite a journey to get to that part of the Osa Peninsula but worth the effort! The location is one of the most beautiful places that I have been in the world! The beach is pristine, the biodiversity in the area is incredible. So many birds and other wildlife among the rich green of the coastline jungle!
The Retreat center itself was really lovely in every possible way. The food was very locally sourced, healthy and thoughtful. Although not as much variety of food as we might see in less remote places, every meal was family style served and delicious! The owners are very friendly, knowledgable about the area, kind and helpful. All of the local staff were welcoming and made the stay wonderful! The yoga studio was surrounded by nature, with constant bird songs and animal calls accompanying each of our practices. Sandy is a skilled yoga instructor with many varied styles of yoga and other wellness practices and philosophy woven into her offerings. I loved walking for hours on the beach and finding beautiful sunning and swimming spots. The surfing lessons were really fun as well as the group excursion to Cocovado National Park. I called the week the "sunrise" retreat as every morning around 530 am you'll be treated to a gorgeous ever changing tapestry of colour worth rising early for! I hope to return back again and enjoy this lustrous gem of a place and immersive yoga in nature experience!
