First Puja
I have led at least 14 residential silent retreats at Vajrapani over many years, being Spiritual Director of Moon Mountain Sangha. Vajrapani holds many beautiful memories for our sangha and for me. The teacher who invited me to share the dharma in 2004 came from a Zen background.
However, a beautiful bronze Tara sits in the center of my meditation altar, and I was moved to attend the New Moon Tara Puja--my first ever. Venerable Angie was lovely, and frankly I could have listened to her chant in Tibetan for the entire time. It was not necessary to hear the English translation to feel the vibration of Tara. During this puja, White Tara seemed to perch on the top of my head and then descend into my body. It was a beautiful experience, and I want to thank Angie for her sweet way of pointing, and for her beautiful Tibetan chanting. Not being a Tibetan Buddhist in this particular life dream, I have not availed myself of Tibetan teachings except through reading and also the transmission that has come numerous times through the Lama Yeshe statue(s) in the Gompa. Our Sangha has a special place in our hearts for Lama Yeshe and for Vajrapani. So I would like to send many blessings and much love to Venerable Angie, to Vajrapani, and to the Buddha. Dharma, and Sangha that hold us all.
