About the Teacher

Why study with them?

A yogi and mediator for over 35 years, with over 20,000 hours of teaching experience, Lisa is a consummate yoga professional who has inspired many over the last 25 years of teaching on Long Island to become devoted practitioners and to train with her to become yoga teachers. Lisa co-founded two major yoga/wellness centers in Nassau County, NY— first in 2003 (Om Sweet Om Yoga in Port Washington), and more recently in 2012 (PRACTICE). In 2016 PRACTICE was gifted to Northwell Health in Roslyn, New York, and re-named: The Center for Wellness and Integrative Medicine (CWIM), where she is currently the director of yoga and teacher training. Lisa’s teaching style is masterful and empowering. She challenges all students to move beyond the bounds of the mind and expand into an experience of authenticity and self-realization. Lisa’s intention and expertise lie in her ability to lead students on a healing, transformational journey – body, mind, and soul.

In addition to being Director of Yoga at CWIM, Lisa is proud to be the founder of the Nourishment program at Practice. She has been a part of the holistic health and lifestyle movement, and an environmentalist for the past 45 years. A passionate natural gourmet/farm-to-table and macrobiotic cook, Lisa wholeheartedly believes in the healing/transformational power of food.

As chairperson volunteer of her children’s elementary school Nutrition Committee for many years, she worked with the district to make school meals healthier adding vegetarian/vegan choices every day, including regular salad bar and soup offerings as well as milk-free that’s of BGH. Lisa founded a neighborhood organic food cooperative, partnered in a natural food market, and raised two beautiful, healthy, young men who were weaned on carrot/green juices and enthusiastically ate and (cooked) kale, sea vegetables, adzuki beans, and quinoa! She is a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and Nourishment Counselor. Lisa specializes in Clean Living Eating and Detox Cleansing to enhance life force energy for a more direct experience of vibrant robust health and happiness.

Lisa is a lifelong yogi and dog mom of one stunning standard poodle, Maple Mae, and one magical rescue cat, Minerva. She gains vital strength and resilience from being under the sky, regular forest baths, and her potent 35-year daily yoga practice. Among her superpowers are creating healthy, organic, and delicious nourishment and the ability to manifest and sustain love of all kinds. A ravenous reader, and consummate teacher for over 25 years, Lisa is passionate about family, building community, and sharing universal truth.
