Sandra Borràs
About the Teacher
Why study with them?
ARCHETYPE: Gentle caretaker. Silent and compassionate warrior. Sensitive and genuine listener.
PERSONAL JOURNEY: My name is Sandra Borràs. As a child, I used to tell my mother, “Mom, when I grow up, I want to be a doctor. This, and my curiosity about alchemy, led me to study chemistry, a degree that I left unfinished because I felt disconnected from the human soul, nature as a living being, or the connections from the deep and intimate part of our being.
I graduated in psychology from Universitat de Barcelona and went through the same crossroads. However, in my second year of university, I began to explore, train and put myself in the hands of therapeutic approaches, holistic health and exploration of consciousness. The presence, family lineages or human relationships now resonated with my body, mind, heart and being. Later, I post-graduated in artistic languages, human expression, and communication.
After living in Lisbon, travelling through El Salvador, Honduras and Mexico, and touring half of Europe and a good part of Spain, I arrived in Ibiza. My idea was to stay on the island for two months to delve into holistic and transformative growth through art. The reality was that I spent seven years of my life there. There, I was part of the Cercle Gestalt – Espai TCI Ibiza team and worked as a Gestalt therapist specialising in dream work and with children and adolescents.
In 2011, sacred medicines came into my life. They opened me to a deeper level of healing and existence. I spent three years as an assistant in the ceremonies of my first teacher and older brother. I also started my trips to the Amazon of Peru, the jungle of my heart, where I have gone for four years to diet and learn with my Ashaninka masters. The sacred medicines, the jungle and the Indigenous people have been part of my life, my relationships, my health, my work and my daily life since then.
When I came back to Barcelona, I coordinated a pioneering clinical trial of psilocybin for major depression at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, and I joined the Support and Integration Services team of ICEERS, accompanying people who have doubts or difficulties integrating processes related to psychoactive plants.
Since 2019, I have been part of a line of women who retreat to nature to have more direct and intimate contact with Mother Earth, ourselves, and the sacred feminine, following and guarding ancestral knowledge and practices.
I have learned and continue to learn, with humility, respect, and love, from different Indigenous people who work with Ayahuasca, San Pedro (Huachuma), temazcal (traditional sweat lodge), and Magic Mushrooms. Today, I respect, love and thank the sacred medicines, caring for their benefits, potentials and blessings in us, in our beloveds and in our daily lives, as the first day.
ROLE: Humanistic and transpersonal psychologist. Facilitator of psychedelic sessions in a ceremonial context. Facilitator of integration and guidance.
