Joaly Trinidad, affectionately known as Jo, is a co-founder of Root & Wisdom and founder of Artesana Healing with a rich educational background and deep ancestral roots. Holding an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Media and a Master’s degree in Counseling from NYU, Jo integrates modern academia with the indigenous practices of her Taino lineage. As the great-granddaughter of native touch healers, she blends ancient wisdom with contemporary, research-based methods.

Certified as a somatic breathworker, vibrational entrainment healer, yoga instructor, and Kambo provider, Jo brings over four years of experience as a lead facilitator in Iboga ceremonies. Her Afro-Caribbean heritage, rooted in West/Central Africa, fuels her deep connection to Iboga and her commitment to its service. As a Bwiti initiate into the Mabundi Missoko lineage, Jo dedicates her life to preserving indigenous wisdom traditions and fostering empowerment through her non-profit organization Sacred Roots Foundation, dedicated ensuring these practices thrive for generations to come.
