About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Evert, alongside Emma, co-founded Sacred Pathways Tours and Retreats. His journey began with a bachelor's degree in anthropology, which solidified his expertise in Incan history, architecture, and culture. Years of hands-on experience at archaeological sites have deepened his understanding of the complexities of Incan life. His fluency in Quechua, the ancient language of the Incas, further enhances his connection to this remarkable civilisation.
With a diploma in tourism, Evert's commitment extends beyond his own company. As president of the tour guide association in a region of Cusco, he has championed the rights and welfare of guides, advocating for fair pay and reasonable working hours as well as adequate equipment to support their work.
Evert works closely with shamans to conduct Incan rituals on sacred days, lead plant medicine ceremonies, and create personalised rituals for groups. His commitment to upholding high standards and ethical practices on every tour serves as a benchmark for the tourism industry in Peru. Through his leadership and unwavering dedication to responsible tourism, Evert leaves a lasting positive impact on his community and the travellers who experience his tours.
