About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Role: Student Support/ Retreat Facilitator.

Courtney Zapor-Campo has a formal background in design and cultural anthropology, and has been fortunate to work with psychedelics for fifteen years. Her fascination with these fields of study led to her exploration of many different plant medicine and nature-based traditions from around the world. Through immersive learning from different elders and their rituals, as well as courses in social impact design, she became very interested in identifying cultural nuances as well as observing broader commonalities regarding healing in community.

Courtney is interested in the intersection of psychedelics and design as well as the dialogue between scientific findings and traditional plant medicine practices. Courtney has a passion for psychedelic education, risk management, and training. She previously held a variety of positions within Synthesis, which include a member of the Psychedelic Practitioner Training faculty, a co-lead facilitator on the Immersion Retreat, Program Manager, and Content Manager. She considers her work at Synthesis to be one of the most rewarding roles she has held, and has gratitude for the team and the students that she has had the pleasure to work with.

In her free time, Courtney collaborates with the psychedelic think-and-practice tank, Communitas Collective, and the Boa Foundation, an indigenous-led organization that works to preserve indigenous lands and cultures around the world.
