About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Brigitte is a yoga teacher, meditation guide, artist, and retreat leader currently based in Colombia, where she lives and works at a wellness and ayahuasca retreat center in the mountains outside Medellín. Her work explores the relationship between the body, emotion, attention, creativity, healing, and the experience of being fully alive.
She began practicing yoga at 15 years old in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and has spent the last decade studying movement, meditation, breathwork, philosophy, nervous system regulation, and embodied healing practices through both Eastern traditions and modern approaches to wellbeing.
Her formal training includes a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Raja Yoga in Philadelphia and a 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Rishikesh Yogkulam in India, where she studied Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, meditation, yoga philosophy, anatomy, Sanskrit, restorative practices, yoga therapy, and Marma Points. She also studied meditation through the Himalayan Institute, deepening her understanding of mindfulness, breath, and the psychology of awareness.
Since beginning to teach in 2014, Brigitte has guided hundreds of students through yoga classes, meditation programs, workshops, and retreats throughout the United States, Colombia, Italy, Turkey, Bali, and beyond. After building a yoga and meditation community of over 100 people in Brooklyn, New York, she chose to leave behind a more conventional path and begin leading retreats and immersive experiences around the world.
Now, through BK Honest Yoga, Brigitte creates experiences that blend yoga, meditation, nervous system work, philosophy, creativity, emotional healing, community, and honest human connection. Her teaching style is warm, grounded, emotionally intelligent, and deeply personal. She is less interested in perfection or performance than in helping people feel present, connected, courageous, and fully here in their lives.
