About the Teacher
Why study with them?
I am passionate about Shakespeare. I've worked as an actor for forty years. I'm originally from Hartlepool and was a steelworker before training at RADA.
I have played leads at The Globe, The National and The RSC.
I have performed Shakespeare from New York to London's West End, from Australia to Africa, and from Russia to Columbia. I have performed in over 20 of his plays.
I have edited several of Shakespeare's plays for BBC Radio 4. I have won awards for my writing. I set up an award-winning theatre company, Big Arts, with Martin Clunes and formed the first independent radio drama company, winning several Sony Awards and nominations for my writing and producing. I've also adapted Several of Shakespeare’s plays for BBC Radio 4.
I've taught at many major Drama schools, including RADA, Centra, Identity, Rose Bruford and Guildford, ranging from Declan Donnellan’s Actor and The Target through to Meissner, Stanislavski, audition technique and acting for Camera. I have delivered Shakespeare workshops and seminars across the world. I was a fight director in my formative years.
I run my own voice-over company, which produces Voice Reels for Actors and celebrities such as Matt MacFadyen, Keeley Hawes, Eddie Marsden and Jimmy Nesbitt.
