About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Iván González is an aquatic therapist with 20 years of experience and a Janzu instructor since
2013.
He holds a degree in Human Communication from the National Autonomous University of
Mexico with studies in Psychology and Body Psychotherapy, integrating the knowledge of
movement and aquatic dance into its psychotherapeutic potential.
A practitioner of Yoga, he lived for 13 months at Yasodhara Ashram in Canadá, a community
for the study and practice of Yoga in the lineage of Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh, obtaining
certification as a Hatha Yoga Instructor.
For 20 years, he has actively participated in Native American ceremonies (sweat lodge, vision
quest, and sun dance), receiving permission and blessings to lead sweat lodge ceremonies.
As a co-founder of the School of Aquatic Arts and the Water Collective
(ColectivoAgua.org/en), he has spent 5 years working in alternative addiction treatment
clinics, researching the therapeutic potential of Janzu, Plant Medicine and Sweat lodge as
valuable tools in substance dependency treatment.
