Tye Adekoya

About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Tye Adekoya's path into healing began not with a certification, but with a choice. As a young adult, he decided to stop identifying with the religious, racial, karmic, and generational trauma he had inherited. He began unlearning people-pleasing, self-deprecation, and cycles that were never actually his to carry. That process, honest and unglamorous and ongoing, became the foundation of everything he facilitates.

He became a Reiki practitioner in 2017 and earned the title of Reiki Master in 2019. He then studied Cinematic Arts and New Media at Maharishi International University in a consciousness-based program, learning to understand healing through the lens of creative frequency, sound, and storytelling. That training gave him something most facilitators don't carry: the ability to hold ceremony and create healing art from the same root.

Today Tye works at the intersection of sound healing, somatic breathwork, trauma-release, ceremony, and spiritual guidance. He is also a sound designer and healing frequency composer whose work reflects a belief that the body and the ancestral field respond to what cannot always be said in words.

He lives near Lake Atitlán, Guatemala with his wife Tori and their two sons. The Cocoon Healing Retreat is their home and primary offering. Tye holds space the way a man holds space when he has actually done the work, not from a position of arrival, but from the ongoing practice of remaining honest with himself. He is grounded, direct, and present. He will not let you perform your healing. He will ask you to do the real thing with compassion for yourself. Because that's what he requires of himself.
