The EgoZen Retreat experience was not created from theory alone, but from lived experience — forged through trauma, healing, loss, resilience, spiritual exploration, and years of guiding others through profound personal transformation. Every aspect of this retreat has been intentionally designed to support healing of the mind, body, spirit, and nervous system through a blend of ancient wisdom, trauma-informed guidance, holistic wellness practices, meaningful connection, and immersive experiences in nature.

Over the course of this intimate one-week group retreat, guests are invited into a carefully curated journey that combines Indigenous-led ceremony, plant medicine traditions, nervous system restoration, self-discovery, adventure, nourishment, and community.

Experiences may include:

• Sacred cacao ceremonies
• Rapé rituals
• Temescal ceremony and energetic cleansing
• Cord-cutting and emotional release work
• Indigenous-led plant medicine experiences
• Guided integration and transformational coaching
• Holistic wellness and mindfulness practices
• Waterfall hikes and jungle immersion
• Bicycle adventures into Puerto Viejo
• Community connection and intentional conversation
• Deep rest, reflection, and nervous system reset

Food is approached as part of the healing experience itself. Guests enjoy a blend of chef-inspired meals prepared on-site, hand-selected farm-to-table offerings, and carefully chosen local restaurant experiences that celebrate both nourishment and the vibrant flavors of Costa Rica and are encourage to intermittent fast to connect deeper with their habits and to learn about comfort vs need..

This retreat is designed for those seeking more than temporary escape. It is for individuals ready to release old stories, reconnect with their authentic selves, move through grief or emotional stagnation, deepen spiritually, cultivate inner freedom, and experience healing within a safe and supportive environment.

Whether you arrive seeking clarity, peace, healing, inspiration, reconnection, or transformation, the intention of this experience is simple: to help you remember your wholeness.

Angela de Pietro is a trauma-informed life coach, psychology professional, reverend, Indigenous wisdom advocate, and founder of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to health, healing, and human well-being. Originally from California, Angela brings more than a decade of professional experience working in the field of substance abuse treatment, addiction recovery, trauma support, and transformational coaching.

Trained through Landmark’s Self-Expression and Leadership Program, Angela has been coaching individuals since 2017, helping people break free from addiction, trauma patterns, limiting beliefs, and the emotional bondage of past experiences. Her work combines psychology, nervous system awareness, grief work, mindfulness, ancient wisdom traditions, and radical self-honesty to support deep personal transformation and lasting healing.

Angela is also an ordained Reverend with the Universal Life Church (who's motto is we are all children of the same universe), a role she has held for over 12 years. In addition, she brings nearly two decades of experience guiding and supporting psychedelic journeys involving DMT, ketamine, LSD, psilocybin, and peyote in intentional, ceremonial, and healing-centered settings. Her approach emphasizes safety, integration, personal empowerment, spiritual exploration, and trauma-informed care.

Angela’s work is shaped not only by professional training, but by profound lived experience. Having survived kidnapping, SA, complex trauma, and the devastating loss of two younger brothers, she brings a rare depth of compassion, resilience, and understanding to her work. Her personal journey through PTSD and C-PTSD has fueled her passion for helping others reclaim safety, purpose, joy, and freedom within themselves. She has also served as a death doula and is deeply experienced in supporting individuals through grief, loss, transition, and emotional healing.

In addition to her healing work, Angela is a retired chef trained in fine and luxury dining with the expert culinary team at Ocean Grill inside Restoration Hardware. Her background also includes years as an international pyrotechnic performer, touring and performing for audiences around the world.

Today, Angela’s work centers on helping others remember their innate wholeness through healing, self-expression, conscious living, spiritual exploration, and the preservation of ancient wisdom traditions.
