Details of this retreat

Dieting is the deepest healing work within traditional Amazonian medicine. It consists of a retreat in isolation in a private bungalow in the jungle taking healing plants and adhering to a strict diet. It is an intense process that offers a powerful opportunity to experience profound healing. Which plants each participant will take is determined on an individual basis to best suit their needs.

One day prior to starting the diet is a purging/purifying ceremony with either Tobacco or Yawarpanga. This is followed the next evening by a guided Ayahuasca ceremony in the ceremonial space that begins the diet. Depending on each participant they may take Ayahuasca additional times during the diet in solitude. The last night of the diet we close with a final guided Ayahuasca ceremony.

Dieting is suitable for anyone who is at a crucial moment in their life, who needs to make decisions, overcome some kind of emotional, spiritual or energetic blockage or who want to embark on a path of personal development and carry out introspection work to foster a deeper connection with themselves.

It is recommended to arrive to La Musa Verde a day before the start date of the process and stay at least another day after its completion to slowly transition back to regular life.

To participate in the diet we need to know some information about you first. You will need to complete a questionnaire before we can confirm your participation.

LA MUSA VERDE - Great place to start your personal transformation
In April 2026, I completed a 10-day Traditional Ayahuasca Diet with Christian Becker at La Musa Verde in Tarapoto, and it was one of the most profound experiences of my life.

The retreat began with an ayahuasca ceremony on Saturday. Initially, I was joined by a couple from France, but after they left early, I had the rare opportunity to experience the entire three-hectare property in complete peace and privacy. The center is beautifully located at the entrance of the Alta Shilcayo rainforest reserve, surrounded by nature in its purest form.

My bungalow was very comfortable, with a terrace overlooking much of the property, offering both tranquility and a sense of connection to the space. Christian also prepared delicious vegetarian meals before the Saturday ceremonies.

I chose the most intensive version of the diet, including a six-day fast. Although challenging, this deep level of commitment proved incredibly rewarding, especially in combination with the gentle use of ayahuasca during several evenings throughout the week.

The two main Saturday ceremonies, each lasting several hours, were truly extraordinary — far beyond anything I could have imagined. The experience was further elevated by exceptional live music. It’s clear that Christian’s background as a professional musician plays a significant role in creating such a powerful atmosphere.

Beyond his musical talent, Christian brings a rare combination of empathy, intuition, and analytical depth. His presence throughout the retreat felt both supportive and protective, which is essential in such a process. La Musa Verde itself has a unique energy — it genuinely feels like a small piece of paradise.

Without a doubt, this was one of the best investments I have made in my 48 years of life.
