About this Retreat
Laura Pasetti is a director, playwright and facilitator of learning, experienced in working with professionals and non-professionals alike. She graduated with Giorgio Strehler at Piccolo Teatro di Milano – National Theatre of Italy in 1990. She has always considered theatre a mission more than a profession and seen herself as “an artist on a quest”. Despite a very successful acting career she never stopped searching and training to enrich her knowledge and understanding of humanity. She taught at the Piccolo Teatro of Milan Acting school for 10 years before deciding to focus on the development of her own methodology. Since 2016 she has been combining theatre and ecology. In 2023 she founded Theatre of the 7 Directions and completed her Master’s Degree in Engaged Ecology from Schumacher College/Plymouth University. She lives in Scotland, in the Ecovillage Findhorn.
Details of this retreat
Our international summer camp will make you live an immersive experience of 10 days in the region of Moray, Scotland (UK).
This programme will offer an enjoyable and meaningful exploration of our relationship with the other-than-human-world.
An opportunity to give space to your creativity, make international friends and discover a part of the world like Scotland where nature is still wild and relatively untouched by humans. Creativity will be the gateway to explore reality with new eyes and ears. Active listening, sensorial drawing, creative writing and physical theatre will be some of the tools we will use to engage in a new dialogue with nature.
From writing the script to directing, from creation of the scenes to interpretation, everyone will have a role.
It is not necessary to have any stage experience, but if you do you will have the chance to deepen what you know and learn new tools.
At the end of the camp we will offer an eco-performance to the local audience.
Participants will be guided to explore a new form of connection with the other-than-human-world, develop self-awareness and become more present to what is inside and outside themselves. The result will be a new perspective of who they are.
