Mark Huser

The initiator and director of Earth Awareness and architect of the Nature Temple, he is the master mind behind it all. Mark is a multi-talented person with great vision and a proactive attitude. As an extraordinary artist he is engaged with creating beauty in all its diversity, which is unmistakably found everywhere around the centre. For 13 years he and Maya are organizing countless events and retreats. His teachers came from many different shamanic cultures, but above all the Huichol, the Shuar and the Shipibo traditions. After a full-time cycle of initiation into medicine plants and by collaborating intensively with many wisdom keepers, Mark has an incredible understanding about the use of sacred plants as a tool for transformation. He is an inspirational speaker, a marvellous musician, a powerful chanter and a resourceful lead-facilitator during the retreats. He proved himself being an authentic bridge between the ancient knowledge and the modern Western culture.

Maya van Oosterhout

Director of the organisation and artist of the Nature Temple, she is the care-taker of the holistic vision. Her experience in this type of journey-work is outstanding. Her quality lies in her empathic and bold approach. Her motherly, unjudgmental, supportive attitude and vibrant spirit makes people feel at ease quickly. She sings enchanting songs, plays various instruments and is a furious dancer. She is a mother of two grown children and an influencer on a sustainable lifestyle. With her guidance you can be sure that you are personally taken care for.

Laura van der Heijden

Laura has been connected to our centre for over 10 years and we really love her cheerful presence a lot. As a young girl she was very passionate about movement and dancing, she did the previous education of the ‘National Ballet’ and Tai Chi. After 8 years of training, she works as a certified ‘Critical Alignment Yoga’ (CAY) teacher and runs her own yoga-studio ‘YogaDus’ in Amsterdam. She teaches to all ages and all levels. CAY focusses on the alignment of the skeleton. This form of yoga helps to move freely and without stress, in collaboration with gravity and breathing exercises. She helps people to build up confidence towards the physical body, which stimulates the self-healing qualities of the body. Laura is also a meditation/visualisation guide. She has over 25 years of experience with psychedelics and visited her shamanic teacher in Ecuador several times. As a ceremonial facilitator she is utmost caring for the participants and has an eye for their basic needs. She is a team player, very strong in practical’s and always in a good mood.

Pascal Rees

Pascal is a steady and grounded presence, his first visit to the centre was in 2008. With his experience as Nature Life Coach, Shinrin-yoku walks, breath- and wellness coach and shamanic training, he is a versatile addition to the team. He is an active, compassionate and optimistic facilitator during the ceremonies and retreats. Sacred plant and animal medicine helped him to find his way in life and a more conscious spiritual and earth connected path. He loves to challenge people to find their inner wisdom and become the best version of themselves. He loves to work in the garden as he is a permaculture teacher as well. His practise is called NatuurKrachtCoach and that's why always loves a good walk in nature! He also works with the plant spirits through the use of the essential oils, aromatherapy so people can empower themselves with the use of natural products.

Ramona Capilitan

Ramona is a warm and gentle spirit who is alround at the centre. You can find her in the kitchen as a ground facilitator or meet her taking care for the guests during the ceremonies as a ceremonial facilitator. At our retreats she is offen taking care for relaxing chair massages, which is a blessing for all participants and really compliments the retreats. If you are in need of some relaxation in the body’s muscles or a soothing touch to realine your body’s energy field, her hands will find the way. Her companie is called The Art of Relaxation and Creation. At her practice in Amstelveen she offers massages, coching & workshops. She also works over 10 years as a massage therapist in companies. As passionate as she is for giving massages, she also loves to cook delicious food. Specialty: homemade banana-bread! You will find Ramona also in our kitchen making great soups and salads.

Ivo van Dijk

Music, and especially drums, had been known to me for years. I have been involved with music since my childhood. I was on stage with Het Metropole Orkest, among others, and in the past I performed regularly throughout our own country and beyond. The idea of working with old instruments had been bubbling for a number of years. Partly since being actively involved with meditation and shamanism, I have gotten to know a new part of myself. This resulted in a great development of myself, but also my music experience and practice (more from intuition, closer to my emotions). I began to understand my own story better. Voicehealing.nl I set up as a meeting of my love for music and meditation. I love nothing more than to share, to explore with you what happens when we experience a musical journey in a space that is set out of love for and by all those present. Kristjan Schwartz

Like all team members Kristjan is very experienced. For 20 years he is using psychedelics for self-development and answering life questions. It is a way of life for him, which he managed to integrate in his spiritual, hand-pocked tattoo-shop in Deventer K581, where he adds ceremonial aspects to his working methods. He is an artist and a graphical designer who among other things graduated from the art academy. His spiritual training and inspiration came from the Shuar culture (Ecuador) and the Saami culture (Finland). Since 2019 he is part of the Earth Awareness-team as a facilitator. We got to know Kristjan as calm and awake observer, who works with focus and care for the people. Participants feel save with him, with his open attitude he brings confidence in the group.

Pricing

The pricing is all included (food, drinks, truffles, workshops and overnight stay). But we offer also the option to rent a private tent at our indoor camping. The tents are limited available and come fully equiped (bedding set, night lamp) so you can travel light. If you don't choose for this you sleep in the Nature Temple and you have to bring your own sleeping gear. Because we need the space during the daytime for the workshops this means that every morning you have to pack your stuff into your bag again.

We offer a varied and supportive activity program during the whole retreat. You can be sure we offer you a balanced program set up to help you to prepare for or integrate the mushroom ceremonies.

The Group

The group consists of maximum 24 participants, both male and female and probably from different nationalities, therefore we speak English. Many people are seeking a way to enrich and enhance their lives and reconnect with nature, feeling more and more enmeshed in impossible demands, pressure and stress, with a sense of being out of step with their true authentic self. If you
feel that life has lost its magic or fulfillment, the path of psychedelics might help you to reawaken your spirit.
All participants share more or less the same intention; to create a more rewarding life. In the trust and safety of the group you find recognition and many times friendships evolve from these shared experiences. The group stimulates you to develop your talents and deal with your challenges.

Incompatibilities

These retreats are meant for people with good mental and physical health. It is not offered as a substitute for medical or psycho-therapeutic care. Psilocybin mushrooms cannot be taken in combination with anti-depressive or anti-psychotic medication. If you are on these or other kind of medication or doctor treatments for mental health you cannot join these retreats. For your safety and the safety of others you always need to inform us about your medical or psychological treatments or complaints. If you did not inform us right, we can exclude from joining the ceremonies. Joining a retreat is always on your own responsability.

Our 3 day psilocybin mushroom retreats offer a full program with several workshops hosted by different professional skilled facilitators. Every retreat is slightly different but think about workshops like yoga, breathwork, meditation, dance etc. Everything is about creating the most beneficial state of being to encounter a magic mushroom experience. From the (home grown) food to the deep sharings, it is our goal to provide you a insightful and long lasting experience.

Directions

The centre is about 1 hour from Amsterdam. From the airport you take the direct train to Apeldoorn, and a 5 minutes train to Twello station where you are picked up with our car. The whole journey from the airport to our centre is max 1,5 hours and is easy going as the public transport in the Netherlands is well organized and easy to understand for foreigners as well. We are happy to assist you when needed. In consultation and at extra costs we can pick you up at the airport as well (private retreats only), mail us for this service.

Accommodation

Private lodgings at our centre Each participant has a nice and cosy private space at our indoor camping. A tent where you can stand upright, with a bed, a mattress, sheets/blanket/pillow, a carpet and a night lamp will provide you in your basic needs. The tents have a height of 2.50 m and are 2.50x2.50 m. They are situated on our spacious and light upper atelier, sometimes the tents are set up in the garden. Our accommodation has all benefits of following a natural lifestyle. During the retreat you go back to basic at our off grid centre, you shower in rainwater and you manage with limited internet or electricity. But we do offer warm showers!

You sleep in the Nature Temple, bring your own sleeping gear!

NATURE TEMPLE

An initiation centre for the people, for reflection on and reconnection with our origin and the mystery of creation. This unique experience space is specifically designed for ceremonial use. It functions as a compass and initiation centre for truth-seekers. The enchantment of the Nature Temple is the ultimate setting to explore altered states of consciousness. A visit guarantees an unforgettable experience full of inspiration.

The Nature Temple is a 140 m2 square work of art, organically built with thick trunks and curly branches, coloured glass and clay. The majestic wooden floor combined with a fire place in the centre gives the Nature Temple splendor. The 7 diameter geodesic dome-shaped vault at the roof functions as a galactic clock through which you can watch the celestial constellations at night. During the day the sunlight shines through and you can watch the crowns of the surrounding cathedral-like trees.

Library of the earth – Made from more than 40 different types of wood, mostly inlands, give the Temple an unmistakable authentic character. Each type of wood tells its own story, both physically and symbolically. From a technical point of view the Nature Temple has become a combination of various ecological building styles, with elements from an earth-ship, a hobbit house and a log cabin. We have made use of straw, clay and cord-wood construction techniques.

If you're an over-thinker and anxious about the experience, just book it - you won't regret it

I went on the 5 day mushroom retreat and honestly the work that Mark and Maya are doing is so wonderful I think everyone should experience it. I was super anxious before I went about what it was going to be like, and what I was going to discover about myself, or how it might change me, but I shouldn't have worried. I'm still me, I experienced something meaningful, and now I feel very fortunate to have been able to attend.

The whole site is smaller than I had though it would be, and the accommodation (camping beds inside tents in one long room), and the facilities (sawdust toilet and one shower) are basic and limited for the size of the group, but comfortable enough. Actually this ended up forming part of the experience - getting away from all modern comforts helps you to appreciate them more.

The food was simple vegetarian meals, but we ate some really delicious things during the retreat - great soups, and morning porridge to name a couple.

But the main reason to come here is for the people: both the people who run it and for the other attendees. The people running it really know what they're doing in terms of sessions and timings, to make it a relaxed and really meaningful experience. And while me and my fellow attendees were all random strangers to begin with, by the end of the experience it felt like we'd all been hand-picked to represent all different facets of life, background and experience.

The mushroom ceremonies were certainly a major part of the experience, but really it was the time to centre ourselves before and after; the sessions that let us do this; and most significantly the 'sharing' time to hear and digest everyone's personal journeys and experiences that really made it so incredibly special. My first ceremony the mushrooms just gave me the gift of relaxation - I enjoyed the music, played the drums, enjoyed nature, and had a generally wonderful time. My second ceremony took me on more of an emotional rollercoaster - at one time mourning my grandparents who lost their former families in the Holocaust, and later laughing uncontrollably just based on the joy I saw in some of my fellow attendees.

I've only been back for 2 days but I can already feel changes in my own behaviour where I'm more focused, more tolerant, and less addicted to social media. I've felt like smiling at people if I catch their eye, almost unheard of in London!, and have felt much more connected to those around me while also feeling like things that might have annoyed me previously (loud conversations, busy public transport, etc) don't annoy me now.

Would strongly recommend everyone does either this (or other) guided/considered psilocybin experience because its an amazing way to take a break from normal life and come back to it with some fresh perspectives.

The setting was great for introspection, and the workshops and guidance helped me delve into the mushroom experience and get the maximum benefits. I felt privileged to go through the experience.
