Meet the female shaman (La Curandera) Doña Ottilia
Doña Ottilia ( a female shaman) started her shamanic and ayahuasquera journey at age 17. She was introduced to Ayuahasca, other medicine plants, dietas and started her work as shaman healer just before her twenties and since then has healed through the work of the sacred plants dozens of local people and international visitors. Doña Ottilia was invited to lecture about ayahuasca internationally and opened her ayahuasca retreat centre in Iquitos (Peru) few years ago. What characterize Doña Ottilia is her full time dedications to the treatment of psycho-somatic or somato-psychic ailments and her strict practicing of in-depth consultation with each retreater. During the healing ayahuasca retreats lead by her in the role of curandera (and facilitated by yoga therapist and expressive arts therapist Giuseppe Rosato) she design tailor made treatment as she meets and diagnoses each participant. For this reason the itinerary of the retreat is just a guideline of the actual itinerary that will be implemented by Doña Ottilia. She knows that each person coming to the centre has a different medical, emotional, psychological, spiritual background and thus, only after she meets the participants and observe how they will respond to the ceremony, she can plan personalized or group daily activities, dieta and so on. Also she gives extreme importance in monitoring during the retreat the response from each participants to the treatments and adjust the treatment and program accordingly.
Role of the Curandero/ Shaman
Doña Ottilia will be assessing one by one the specific needs (i.e.: health, emotional, spiritual and so on) and she will administer tailor made treatment for each of the participants. However, she will be allowing for a minimum of two ceremonious for a 7 days retreat. She also allows for non invasive complementary integration work from specialized and qualifies therapist as Giuseppe Rosato (MA, YT, EAT). Reason why during the retreat yoga, meditation and expressive arts therapy workshops can be implemented under her direct supervision and recommendation.
