About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Bastu Tut Akhu Aset Maat is a educator by profession and lifestyle. She has dedicated the past decade to studying the cultural and philosophical aspects of Ancient Kemet, commonly referred to as the "Mysteries" under the guidance and preceptorship of Dr. Muata Ashby (Sebai Maa) and Dr. Karen Ashby (Seba Dja), through the Temple of Aset, Temple of Shetaut Neter, and the Sema Institute of Yoga.

Certified as a Level 1 & 2 Tjef Neteru Sema Paut (Egyptian Yoga) instructor, she has adeptly led classes at the Sadkin Community Center in Lauderhill Florida for over two years. As a Psychology teacher, she skillfully integrates the posture system and spiritual philosophies into her curriculum, enriching the educational experience for her students.

As the Philosophy of Maat is paramount to her journey, Maat Ari (selfless service) extends to various acts of selfless service and event organization within the Temple of Shetaut Neter and Temple of Aset. Notable roles include co-facilitator of the Sunday Devotional Worship Program, co-chair of the Neterian Conference Children’s Committee, and Founder of the "Children of Ra Youth Day" Fundraising event. Additionally, she contributes significantly to initiatives such as the Neterian Conference & Goddess Festival and assists Seba Dja with the Serpent Power Workshops and Heb Arat Ritual Program.

Furthermore, as an integral member of the Kemet Mystic Tours team, she has been instrumental in planning and organizing trips to Kemet (Egypt) hosted by the Sema Institute of Yoga since 2017. Her dedication and accomplishments were acknowledged with the title of Bastu by Sebai Maa, following the completion of the Temple of Aset course through Kemetic University in 2018. She also plays a pivotal role in the Temple of Aset's Thursday Devotional Meditation Program.

Currently enrolled in The Temple of Asar & The Clergy Studies courses at Kemet University, she actively participates as a Clergy student, facilitating the Friday Community Saa Neberdjer Meditation Program. As an author, she penned the 8-week "Community Fasting Day Newsletter," advocating for proper nourishment of the body, mind, and soul, primarily drawing from the philosophy of "The Kemetic Diet" by Dr. Muata Ashby, Sebai Maa.

She spearheads the Kemetic Diet Study Group and orchestrates the recurring "Rawer Food Fast," fostering a community dedicated to holistic well-being out of which the Kemetic Diet Retreat came forth.
