The curandera Doña Ottilia has created a harmonious, conductive, comfortable, safe and secure healing retreat centre where she lives (most of the time) and works with patients and the plants. Set amongst two hundred and fifty acres in the Amazon rainforest the jungle retreat centre is located at about 45 minutes or 50 kilometers from Iquitos. A 35 minute hike into the jungle is required to get to the camp, after a one hour taxi ride from the city of Iquitos. Her camp has private huts for more serious patients and healthier visitors can stay in a dormitory style buildings with shared bathroom (this might not be necessary but you must be open to this possibility). The dormitories are partially screened and all of the beds have mosquito nets. All living quarters are located on top of hills with amazing view of the Amazon Rainforest. The accommodation are specifically allocated by Doña Ottilia and her criteria is strictly based on health issues of each retreater and space limitation in the private bungalows.
