About Eremito

Mission & Vision

Eremito exists for people who travel alone and for people who need to stop. Created in 2013 by Marcello Murzilli in 3,000 hectares of UNESCO protected woodland in Umbria, this contemporary hermitage offers what has become rare: no Wi-Fi, no signal, no noise. We believe silence is not emptiness but nourishment, and that a few days of real disconnection, shared meals, woodland walks and candlelit evenings can return people to themselves. A certified B Corp, we run the hermitage on largely solar energy, cook vegetarian food from our garden and local suppliers, and keep one simple promise: here, you inhabit time instead of filling it.

A stone hermitage standing alone at the end of its own forest road, with a chapel, a candlelit refectory, a library corner by the fireplace and a relaxation area with Turkish bath and jacuzzi carved into the rock. Around it, 3,000 hectares of protected woodland in the UNESCO Monte Peglia Biosphere Reserve, and nothing else.
