Directions

If you arrive in Sofia, best is to take the train from the Sofia Central Train Station to Mursalevo or Blagoevgrad. It's a good idea that you check on the map where Mursalevo is. In Bulgarian - Мурсалево. Here is the website I preselected the location for you. Every day the train schedule is the same: https://razpisanie.bdz.bg/en/sofia/mursalevo/01.05.2023 You have 2 min. to depart the train. It is a very small station right before the town of Blagoevgrad. The train will stop and you have to be at the door to make it. Depending on how the train has stopped you might not even see it is a station. Best is that you have one of the Conductors help you. English is spoken rarely with older population. Youngsters speak reasonable English (so you can always look for translators around). And when you let me know with which train you arrive, I will come pick you up from the station. We are practically at the end of the world, there is no shop near by. We are 40 min. away from Blagoevgrad and 25 min. from a shop. Its a good idea to buy prepaid internet card, so you have locally Internet and we can be in touch via socials. *** So, if you arrive in Sofia at the bus or train station it will be easy to just change train depending on the time. If you arrive at the airport you can get the metro (subway). Cabs (taxis) are also inexpensive but you have to look for official (not scam) companies like this one which has office on the airport, don't go for people who come to you to propose you transport: https://www.oktaxi.net/en To this cab you can also pay by card. Not a good idea to exchange money on the airport. In Bulgaria we accept only leva (BGN). The official EUR rate is fixed - 1,95583 for 1. So it should be around this price. Or best is to just pay with debit card although we are largely a cash economy still and in few places its still not possible to pay otherwise. Plus always a positive is to have at least some change. Downtown in the Centre everything is close by and on a walking distance usually or with public transport. In case you want to use the opportunity to see Sofia here some info. The central walking street is called Vitosha Boulevard and there around in the little cobbled streets you can find all kinds of treasures from hidden shops to nice eating places, bars, clubs, etc. Both budget and high-end. Also from there in all directions you can find cultural stuff and sightseeing and lots of people to meet. Here is a guide with a map in case you want one: https://www.inyourpocket.com/Bulgaria
