How to Get to Sampatiki (Leonidio region)
Sampatiki is a beautiful seaside village near Leonidio, on the eastern coast of the Peloponnese. It can be reached easily by car from either Athens International Airport (El. Venizelos) or Kalamata Airport.
✈️ From Athens International Airport (El. Venizelos):
Dstance: ~230 km | Driving time: about 3.5 to 4 hours
- Route: Follow the E94 highway toward Corinth, continue to Tripoli, then follow signs for Astros → Leonidio → Sampatiki .
- Car rental is the easiest option. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Athens to Leonidio (via KTEL Arkadias) and a short taxi ride (10 min) to Sampatiki .
✈️ From Kalamata Airport:
Distance: ~185 km | Driving time: about 3 to 3.5 hours
- Route: Drive toward Tripoli, then follow the signs to Astros → Leonidio → Sampatiki .
- Car rental or private transfer is recommended, as public transport options are limited.
- Pro Tip: The drive to Sampatiki is scenic, passing through mountain roads, olive groves, and coastal views—plan some extra time to enjoy the route.
