45-Day Traditional Shipibo Shamanic Apprenticeship – Inca Shipiba

The 45-day apprenticeship at Inca Shipiba is an immersive training in the ancestral Shipibo-Conibo plant medicine tradition in the Peruvian Amazon near Nauta. Led by Maestra Matilde and her family of Shipibo healers, this is a structured initiation rooted in lineage, discipline, and direct experience, not a casual retreat.

At the core of the training is the master plant dieta, a traditional process of isolation, dietary restriction, and deep communion with a chosen teacher plant. Each apprentice receives an individualized plant according to their readiness. Master plants may include Bobinsana, Ajo Sacha, Chiric Sanango, Uña de Gato, Noya Rao, Ayahuma, Chuchuhuasi, and, when appropriate and under strict supervision, Toe (Brugmansia).

Throughout the 45 days, apprentices participate in traditional ayahuasca ceremonies held in darkness and guided by icaros (sacred healing songs) sung by Maestra Matilde, Maestra Sarita, and Maestro Wilson. The ceremonies support deep purification, emotional healing, and spiritual alignment while offering experiential learning within the Shipibo healing framework.

The apprenticeship begins with a tobacco purification ritual, and kambo may be offered as an optional cleansing preparation.

This training is intended for individuals sincerely called to the path of plant medicine and prepared for disciplined inner work. It offers the opportunity to live within a Shipibo healing lineage while directly contributing to the preservation of ancestral wisdom.
