About this Retreat
Mrs. Juliana is the heart and soul behind one of Naxos’ most treasured culinary experiences. A lifelong home cook and guardian of traditional island recipes, she shares generations of knowledge rooted in seasonal ingredients, simplicity, and time-honored techniques. Her cooking and hospitality have been featured on Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, My Greek Table with Diane Kochilas, Life of Loi with Maria Loi, as well as in Travel + Leisure, Forbes Travel, and Food & Wine. With warmth, patience, and deep respect for tradition, Mrs. Juliana invites guests to experience Greek cooking as it has been practiced for centuries, slow, soulful, and deeply connected to the land.
Details of this retreat
Discover Naxos through its people, flavors, landscapes, and age-old traditions in a retreat crafted for those seeking connection, meaning, and slow living. Over five carefully curated days, you’ll cook with a beloved local grandmother in the very farm where Anthony Bourdain cooked, learn to make Greek preserves, bake bread in a historic watermill, join a beekeeper for a deep dive into honey culture, visit a mountain shepherd for cheese tasting, explore marble-stone villages, savor wines at a boutique winery, and sail with local fishermen on a traditional wooden kaíki.
Your home for the week is the Naxian Collection, an SLH-listed property of Cycladic suites and villas, each blending luxury with island authenticity. Daily breakfasts, aperitivos, farm-to-table meals, tastings, all experiences, and private transfers are included.
This retreat is designed for culinary travelers, culture lovers, nature seekers, and anyone longing to slow down, connect, and experience the true soul of Greece, far from the crowds.
Come as a traveler. Leave as a friend. Carry a memory of Naxos forever.
