About this Retreat
Jyotsna Sistla has been dedicated Yoga practitioner for over a decade. As she navigated the corporate world, yoga emerged as her steadfast ally. It evolved into her sanctuary, fostering holistic well-being, sharpening her focus, offering clarity amid the chaos of work & life. Moments of Iintrospection & self-exploration on her mat became a haven where she found answers and solutions within herself, transcending the challenges of day-to-day life.
Practice Journey:
Jyotsna’s relationship with yoga began with exploration— trying different styles before completing her 200-hour Teacher Training Course to deepen her understanding. What started as personal curiosity soon grew into a genuine love for teaching, something she continued to nurture alongside her corporate career. Her path eventually led her to Ashtanga, a practice that became her daily anchor and true sadhana. In 2023, she travelled to Mysore to study under R. Sharath Jois, grandson of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, marking a transformative stage in her journey. After Sharathji’ s passing, Jyotsna continues to study under Laruga Glaser, disciple of Sharath Jois. At her core, Jyotsna remains a lifelong student. Teaching, for her, is an extension of her practice—an opportunity to share what she loves, create supportive spaces, and guide others toward their own inner strength and potential.
Details of this retreat
The theme for this retreat is ‘Tejas’. Tejas, in yogic philosophy, represents the inner radiance—the subtle fire of clarity, vitality, and insight that lives within each of us. When life becomes noisy or overwhelming, this inner flame can dim. This retreat is an invitation to gently rekindle that Tejas through movement, breath, silence, nature, and presence. As we soften the senses and return to ourselves, Tejas rises again—steady, luminous, and quietly powerful.
What Awaits You:
- Morning practices that build gentle warmth—Hatha-Vinyasa,Mysore-style sessions, chanting, and quiet meditation in a valley- facing shala.
- Evening workshops to reconnect with clarity and breath, including Mysore fundamentals and a two-part breath series.
