About this Retreat
Details of this retreat
Because we believe that the place, the timing, and the people with whom your stay unfolds are essential to the depth and quality of your experience, we invite you to embark with our experienced, committed, and caring collective on a journey to a magical land it knows inside out: India.
Would you like to discover India through its culture, landscapes, and the spiritual tradition of yoga, in a setting that is both inspiring and accessible? We invite you to live a unique experience in North India, at the heart of emblematic places where history, traditional practices, and majestic nature meet.
Our retreat takes place in Rishikesh, at the foothills of the Himalayas, on the banks of the Ganges, the sacred river that flows through the city and shapes daily life. Renowned for its ashrams, suspension bridges, and traditional ceremonies, Rishikesh offers a rich and vibrant immersion into Indian culture, while being surrounded by soothing natural landscapes. Between cultural discoveries and free time, each participant will be able to explore the city at their own pace and soak in its unique atmosphere.
We will also visit Haridwar, one of the major pilgrimage sites of North India. Its ghats (the steps leading down to the river), ancient temples, and the famous Aarti ceremony—lighting up the banks of the Ganges every evening—offer a powerful cultural and symbolic experience, deeply rooted in Indian tradition.
About the Yoga practice :
Surya Ashtanga Yoga is a comprehensive and profound method of yoga, centered on well-being, personal development, and the gradual preparation for meditation. It was created by Stéphane Chollet, a French practitioner who has been traveling throughout Asia for over thirty years, meeting some of the greatest yoga schools and spiritual masters of exceptional depth—often marked by great inner stature despite their outward discretion. Rooted in the essence of various styles, this method forms a coherent and logical synthesis, grounded in a deep understanding of subtle anatomy. Whatever your current level of practice, it offers step-by-step guidance toward a complete, effective, and deeply embodied meditation practice.
Our retreats provide a unique opportunity to discover and immerse yourself in both the practice and theory of high-quality yoga, in the heart of India, its birthplace, alongside experienced teachers committed to ongoing training and refinement.
