Details of this retreat

Stop getting lost in anxiety. Step into the clearing.
The Clearing is a 4-day immersive retreat combining evidence-based anxiety mastery with deep nature connection, on 8 private wooded acres in Western North Carolina, offered by Designing the Mind & Nero Experiences.

Anxiety has a logic. Learn it. Most approaches to anxiety try to suppress it. Ours teach you how it actually works, so you can dismantle it at the root rather than patch it at the surface.

The mind heals where it feels safe. A Nero is a near-zero day - a pause in forward momentum. Nature, movement, and stillness give the nervous system the conditions to do what therapy alone often can't.

You leave with a system, not a memory. The retreat integrates directly into the Anxiety Algorithm program and a year of Mindform membership, so the work continues long after you leave the mountains.

Ryan's Work
The science of mastering your fear
Drawing from CBT, interoceptive exposure, and mindfulness-based behavior change, synthesized into a clear, actionable framework you can apply to any fear or worry.

Live Education Sessions
Small-group deep dives into the Anxiety Algorithm framework - the exact principles used to systematically dismantle fear, panic, and worry.
The Anxiety Algorithm Program
Full access to the 30-lesson self-paced course ($499 value), yours to continue at your own pace after the retreat.
The Anxiety Book
A signed copy of the companion book - your reference for the frameworks introduced during the retreat.
One Year of Mindform
A full year inside the Mindform community, with 100+ psychotechnologies, live calls, and a community of fellow psychitects.
Katlyn's Work
The body's way of coming home
A Nero is a near-zero day. These experiences give the nervous system what it needs to actually receive the work being done - nature, slowness, and contact with something larger than your thoughts.

Guided Coffee Hikes
Morning hikes into Pisgah National Forest and DuPont State Forest - intentionally slow, coffee in hand, conversation welcome.
Private Sauna Sessions
Heat, quiet, and time - a practice that gives the nervous system room to settle before deeper work begins.
Nature-Centered Conversation
Unhurried, undistracted conversation walks - no agenda, no clock. The kind of talking that actually moves something.
Massage & Bodywork
Somatic restoration - because anxiety lives in the body long after the mind has understood it.

Two practitioners. One vision.
Ryan and Katlyn built their careers - and their property - around a shared belief: that the conditions for human flourishing can be intentionally designed. This retreat is that belief made real.
