Taita Fernando Jojoa is very experienced, he has been a Taita (shaman) for 12 years now.
He started his training at 7 years old, drinking medicine 3 times a week for 10 years straight.

He is a humble gentle man though a force to be reckoned with in his spiritual work within the ceremony, he is accessible within ceremony and outside ceremony for advice and guidance with one of our team available to translate when needed to help integrate these profound experiences. . It is a truly authentic experience.

Schedule

Our ceremonies take place over a mix of night daytime ceremonies. Daytime ceremonies are rare within this space as some Taitas lack the proficiency or willingness to contain this spiritual space. We find this combination of day and night time ceremonies to be unique and extremely beneficial in the process during the week.
During ceremonies, we have the Taita curating the ceremony, while our facilitators and support team consisting of no less than 1 team member per 3 guests will be there to assist, guide and support you throughout the process. Safety and security is paramount to us ensuring all our guests receive the absolute best experience.
Nights will begin around 6pm where the first cup will be offered. You will then return to your personal position within the ceremonial space containing a mattress, blankets, pillow, and of course a bucket to sit with the medicine and allow the work and magic to begin. You can spend your whole night there or if you feel the calling warmly sit beside our ceremonial fire. Music is delivered throughout the ceremony, with live medicine music and taitas personal medicine work guiding you throughout the experience. a 2nd and sometimes 3rd cup will be offered throughout night depending what is required. With our ceremonies ending between 1am-3am where you can stay sleeping on your ceremonial mattress or retire to your room.
Day ceremony will begin at 7AM where the first cup will be offered and follow a similar format as above, the difference being the ceremonial space is slightly expanded and if you feel the calling within ceremony you have the ability to be amongst the beautiful plants, trees views, and vibrant nature while still being under the special care of our team. The ceremony will generally last for 6-7 hours.

The best ayahuasca experience
I've attended multiple times, and my experience has been great. I've also attended other retreats and I've found that the shaman and medicine at this retreat has been the best, and the service is also excellent. Also, great value for the multiple day retreats. Highly recommended.

Transformative Experience
Before deciding on our Ayahuasca Retreat destination, we did a great deal of research on options in a variety of locations, including Peru, Costa Rica, and of course Colombia. We decided on LaWayra because of the affordability, the retreat options, and mostly because of the personal testimonials we reviewed from past guests that spoke to the care and attention to safety. We chose the private tambo (hut/cabin) option and an 11-day retreat with six medicine ceremonies. We thought about just doing the four-day retreat but are so glad we chose a longer stay.

The transformative and healing experience during our stay, is nothing short of miraculous. Choosing such a powerful modality of self-care through plant medicine is a decision that will impact our lives moving forward in positive ways that have already begun to unfold. It literally feels like 10 years of therapy took place for both my husband and I over the past eleven days. We also created a bond with the entire staff and volunteers, and with the other guests that will last a lifetime.

If you're considering a plant medicine retreat and you are feeling the call to Ayahuasca, I would highly recommend LaWayra. Don't let fear of vulnerability prevent you from stepping out on your personal path of trauma healing and living life victoriously. Do it for your loved ones; do it for your friends, but most importantly; do it for you! It's one of the best investments you'll make in yourself, and I know you won't regret it!

Much love to you as you courageously journey on your life path. πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—

Transformative experience that impacted my entire life !
As this was my first experience with Ayahuasca, I was quite nervous of the experience using plant medicine. Because I felt a strong "calling", my husband and I did an extensive amount of research to find the right retreat. I was continuously drawn to LaWayra in our research...and must say that it was an incredible life changing experience. The amenities of the tambo having showers and the views of the mountains while laying in the hammock allowed me to truly relax and find inner peace when not in ceremony. The plant medicine prepared by the Taita with his long lineage of wisdom and care was exactly what I needed. It opened me up to dealing with some really deep rooted childhood trauma and finding forgiveness and self love. Additionally, the word circles allowed me to become vulnerable with other guests, sharing experiences without judgement, helping the strong walls I had built up to come down. The care of the team was incredible and I can say that I always felt truly safe and cared for. I have an enormous amount of gratitude for this life changing experience !

Awesome experience!
well I don't even know where to start, but let's just say this experience has been so magical. I couldn't have picked a better place to live this beautiful moment. The energies in this land, the staff, and Sam have been nothing but amazing to me and everyone here. I'm so happy, and I'm glad I can be reunited to my land, my home, my roots here in colombia and feel the call to participate as a volunteer and help to contribute my love and light for any future patient interested in attending this wonderful medicine. I love this place and I'm very content with what I got out of it. thank you laWayra! β€οΈπŸ«‚πŸ™πŸΌ
