Venue & Amenities

Nestled in the foothills of Mount Warning, in the heart of the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, our Hare Krishna Farm “New Govardhana” is a beautiful 1000 acre property with orchards, organic veggie gardens, cows, horses, streams and swimming holes in abundance.

From the moment when you cross the rustic wooden bridge over the Oxley River and pass through the beckoning avenue of trees which comprises the entrance to the farm, you will notice that this Vedic Yoga Sanctuary is a special place and that your soul finds peace and a sense of coming home.

New Govardhana serves as an ashram to a community of yogis who aspire to live according to their deepest vows and commitments on their path of service, spiritual contentment and happiness (Bhakti Yoga). Their service and dedication make this location a beautiful place of growth, healing and spiritual awakening.

Apart from immersing themselves into their spiritual lives, the devotees also run a school, a cow protection program, big organic gardens and orchards, and an infinite number of yogic festivals and retreats throughout the year. In this context, the Krishna Village serves as an outreach program, inviting retreat guests, course participants and spiritual seekers from all over the world and all ages to participate in the farm\'s activities and experience a simple, happy and wholesome lifestyle.

Horrible accommodation and rude accommodation office staff, Miss Paula
The website says to call the accommodation phone number, but Miss Paula never answers the phone. When you arrive at the office, Miss Paula has an ugly, sour face, doesn't know how to smile, gives you a key to the tiny cubby house they call a "bunkie " that doesn't work, and she refuses to fix it all week, so you can't lock the room. Before paying upfront my conditions were that heater and electric kettle had to be provided, but on arrival, the ugly sour face Miss Paula refused to give both, alleging you can't use electricity and didn't give me a key for the whole week. Mice and rats run through the tin sheds they call shared bathrooms at night, the windows to the cubby house don't stay shut, fly open in wind and rain, the internet and phone doesn't work half the time, and Miss Paula didn't fix any of these major problems either. For the $100 per night they charge for accommodation, go to town and get a decent hotel. The best part about leaving, is that you don't have to look at Miss Paula's very ugly sour face and tolerate her abuse anymore. I gave 1 star for the food, which is good.

What a Beautiful place
Only we t for 2 nights and look forward to going back and staying longer next time. The yoga classes were exactly what I needed, gentle with lots of stretching and a beautiful view. The food and company was wonderful and facilities great. I can't believe they do all this for the the price I paid. So nice for me to be able to spoil myself with something this affordable. Thank you so much everyone.

Delivered way more than expected!!
I was blown away by Krishna Village. Only a few hours there and I just knew I would be back and back and back.

The people are what make it, such authentic, kind souls, such rich conversation with people from all walks of life.

I was refreshed, rejuvenated, and redirected so easily and kindly with a word here, a yoga class there, a friendly chat over a delicious meal, and long walks in the most beautiful of surroundings.

I have come away different, with what Jacqui a yoga teacher said with "calm as my superpower" and a couple of people who I am sure will remain life long friends 🧡

Thankyou for everyone's contribution in making Krishna Village a very special place on earth
