Beautiful retreat centre, down to earth and very well organised and cared for
Krishna Village was an absolute surprise. It is so well organized, and everything is maintained to a high standard. The food was really delicious, with beautiful flavors without being too spicy. I did a separate retreat, and the center was wonderful. The massages are great and they even have a red light therapy bed that I used, amazing. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time. I can't believe it's 45 minutes from my own home, and I'd never experienced this beautiful place. I'll definitely be back.

Not so peaceful retreat
I booked myself into the Hare Krishna village for 2 days to have some time alone to process my cancer journey. I thought it would be peaceful to be in a spiritual community. It was a big mistake. Roadworks right outside my cabin, then moved to another cabin and discovered black mould on the ceiling discovered after reception closed, so I couldn’t move again, had to sleep in the mouldy room. Next day I went to reception to complain and the receptionist made me wait while she and another woman were discussing an online purchase. Finally I interrupted them. I was made to feel like a slight nuisance rather than a paying guest ($200 per night). I managed to get a full refund and came back a day early.
And the food… mostly carbs and no salads and it literally gave me the shits.
I’m giving 2 stars because at least they gave a full refund without any battle. I am exhausted from my experience and decided to never stay in paid accommodation ever again unless absolutely necessary. Decent customer service is so rare in this country.

Wow
I arrived for Karma Yoga not really knowing what to expect, as it was my first yoga retreat. From the introduction, though, I felt genuinely welcomed and quickly became part of a warm, supportive community.
Over the week, the combination of yoga, helping out, shared meals, and time in the peaceful surroundings helped me slow down and feel noticeably calmer. By the third day, I could already feel a real shift in myself.
By the end of the week, I had made some great friends and experienced a few genuinely powerful moments of peace, happiness, and connection. I’d recommend Karma Yoga at Krishna Village to anyone who is curious about retreat life and looking for a meaningful, down-to-earth first experience.
