Mixed feelings on my second visit
On the whole I enjoyed my stay but it was marred by the theft of an item from the verandah at the front of my cabin. I had a string of artificial flowers Marigolds which I carry with me everywhere and I attached firmly to the front of the cabin over the doors on the Saturday these had been taken.
I reported this to management and to my disappointment after three days nobody had contacted me back about this. There is a formal complaint procedure which I followed and lodged information in writing but I'm still waiting for anyone to get back to me officially in writing about this which is disappointing. I left two days early principally because I didn't feel secure or safe because somebody was around who was obviously a thief? And I didn't get the feeling that management was treating it particularly with any urgency. The item itself wasn't a high monetary value, but that's not the point here. It means there are people around who are not meeting the values of the centre..
I was offered a refund for the days, which I didn't stay, which I'm still waiting for.
On the positive side, the food was as good as I've come to expect from my previous stay and I had a beautiful Reiki treatment from Veida. I did a couple of the yoga sessions and went to a couple of the talks and a kirtan. I stayed in what are called the cottages the pine cabins which are really comfortable. It was very cold. After the first night I asked for a better heater and was given one and that fixed the issue and the electric blanket on the bed was very welcome because it was very cold. All in all I feel that the price charged for the stays is good value in today's Australian market even though the price is going up a little now, given that you get three delicious meals a day plus the whole activities programme.
I expect I will return for another stay but I hope management will be able to address the issue I raised for future guests' safety and security.
