Details of this retreat

Sometimes life doesn't ask you to move on.
It asks you to stop. To listen.
To leave behind what you no longer are. To make room for what is waiting to be born.

NATURE • INDIGENOUS WISDOM • SACRED LANDS • ADVENTURE • COMMUNITY
From the Amazon to the Caribbean coast. A Journey Through Colombia that becomes the story of the being returning home.
15 DAYS, 14 NIGHTS, 6 DESTINATIONS, 14 PLACES, 2 FACILITATORS

Why Colombia?
There are moments in life when you feel like you've reached a threshold. Not because something is going wrong. Maybe your life looks really good on paper. You've built things. You've loved. You've lost. You've learned. You've moved on. And yet — there's a part of you that knows something needs to change. A part that feels like the old story no longer holds you. That you've outgrown.

Maybe you’re not searching for answers. Maybe you’re simply longing for a space where you can hear yourself again — beyond the expectations, the opinions, and the constant outside noise. A space quiet enough for you to reconnect with what has always been there: your truth.

We searched for places that are more than just beautiful — places that hold the energy of indigenous lands and sacred sites, that transform you not only through what you see, but through what they awaken within you.
Colombia is alive. Wild, contradictory, colorful. In a single day, you can wake up surrounded by jungle, listen to the stories of a taita, walk through ancient forests and watch the sun disappear over the Caribbean Sea.

In many parts of the world, these traditions have become something preserved in history. In Colombia, they are still breathing. They live in the jungles of Putumayo, in the water villages of Ciénaga, in the indigenous communities of the Sierra Nevada and in the stories shared around the fire — keeping alive the memory of another way of relating to life.
But what makes this country special goes beyond the landscapes. It is in the communities who still maintain a living relationship with nature. The elders who pass on the wisdom of their ancestors. The people who continue to see the mountains, the rivers and forests as living beings, not as places to visit.

People don’t get on a journey like this by accident. They get there when they're ready. Ready to leave behind an old story and ready to look within themselves. And if, by reading these lines, you feel that something in you awakens... Maybe this journey is already calling you.

Some experiences can be explained. Others must be lived.

We don't know what this journey will bring for each individual person. But we know what kind of space we're going to create. A space where you can put down the roles you play every day for a while. Where you don't have to prove anything anymore, where you don't have to be strong anymore. You don't have to know all the answers.

A space that only requires you to be present.

Nature
Jungle. Waterfalls. Rivers flowing into the Sea. Mountains. Delta. The Wild Beaches of Tayrona. The Caribbean Sea.
Sometimes nature becomes the best teacher. It reminds us how to slow down. How to observe. How to trust. How to be present without doing anything in particular.

Meetings
With people. With stories. With traditions. With different ways of looking at life.
We will encounter indigenous communities that keep alive teachings passed down from generation to generation. We will listen. We will learn. And perhaps we will go home with a perspective we did not anticipate when we set out on this journey.

Community
Perhaps the most valuable thing that is born on such a journey is community. People who come from different places. With different stories. But who, for a while, choose to walk together. Many of the connections that are born in such a context continue long after returning home. When you experience something authentic with other people, it stays with you.

Integration
The transformation doesn't end when you land home. In fact, it only then begins to make its way into everyday life. Throughout your trip — and after — Elena and Andreea remain available to support you in your own integration process. Because what you have experienced deserves to be cared for even after you return.

Schedule

Bogota Meet-up

Every journey begins with a step. But sometimes it begins with a pause. After the long flight, Bogota welcomes you with altitude and an air that you immediately feel is different. A vibrant city, between mountains, chosen not for tourist attractions, but to get you out of the “homeroutine”.
We will get to know each other, we will breathe, we will leave behind the rhythm of ordinary life. We will prepare — not with a program, but with presence, for what is to come.
Because the next morning we set off for the place that will be, for many, the heart of the entire journey.

Putumayo, Villagarzon

There are places that invite you to look at yourself differently. Putumayo is one of them.
We will take a domestic flight to Villagarzon, landing in the small airport surrounded by the jungle.
An ancestral land where four Ayahuasca lineages have lived and carried their traditions for generations, in harmony with the rhythm and abundance of nature.
Here, you remember to ask permission before entering a place so wild, so sacred and so alive. Putumayo invites you to meet their traditions through healing music, ícaros, ceremony, art, vision - a colourful culture, deeply connected to the spirit of the jungle.

Sinchi Shambu Camp

This is not a resort. It is home to Taita Jose of the Inga tribe. The plants he uses grow outside. The night sky is the ceiling of the ceremonies. The fire is not decorative.
We chose this place precisely because it is not prepared for tourists. It is prepared for people who want to experience something real.
The title of Taita or Curaca or Shaman is not something that is simply claimed — it is inherited, lived, and demonstrated through decades of devotion. In Putumayo, this ancestral lineage has been carried through nine generations. Not through diplomas or certificates, but through years of apprenticeship, healing and a deep relationship with the plants they cultivate, prepare and understand as part of their own lifestyle.

The body needs to be cleansed and open before it can receive what comes next. For many, these will be the most intense and important days of the journey. The place where something old begins to fall apart. And something new begins to take shape.
Flower Shower, Chicaja Ceremony

A night of intention

Entering the sacred space of traditional ceremony, that comes from the Inga culture, the descendants of the Inca civilization — guardians of a wisdom that has survived colonization, modernization and the many forces that have tried to make it disappear. Meeting the master plant
alignment circle and sound therapy
Yage night ceremony

Rebirth Ceremony

Rebirth starts when you no longer participate to the lie that kept you "safe" and when you stop negociating with what you no longer are.
integration and alignment circle
live andean music
last Yage ceremony

Mocoa
After the intensity of the jungle comes movement. Water. Air. Space.
Located in the Andean-Amazonian region of Colombia, where the eastern mountains open into the vast Amazon rainforest, it is one of the places in Colombia that has not yet been discovered by mass tourism. And it feels.

We will visit a natural reserve of butterflies and other protected species of the Amazon and rest in a natural lodge with comfortable cabins, private balconies an jacuzzi. Exactly what the body needs after the ceremonies, space to breathe without leaving the inner process. Mornings with holistic practices, hiking, living nature, fresh air, green tranquility.

Waterfall daytrip

We will cross the rainforest to the Fin del Mundo Waterfall, a place that invites you to look beyond the usual limits of life and reminds us that, often, exactly where the road seems to end, a new stage of our journey begins.

trekking, multiple waterfalls and baths
optional rappel (sliding down the waterfall)

Cartagena

After introspection and the jungle days comes city, history and celebration.
Cartagena appears like another universe. Color. Music. Ocean. Streets full of life. People who smile without haste and for no reason.

We will stay in the heart of the city, in a hotel overlooking the Caribbean Sea. We will wander through Getsemaní and the Old Town, letting ourselves be carried away by the rhythm of the place. We will discover hidden cafes, colorful markets, street musicians and sunsets that seem to stop time for a few moments. We will eat well. We will laugh. We will breathe the salty sea air. We will feel the joy of simple things again.

Because this journey is not just about descending into the depths. It's also about returning to people, to the joy of living, to everyday life.
guided city tour

Rosario Islands

Breathe. After the colorful hustle and bustle of Cartagena, we will spend a full day exploring the Rosario Islands, an archipelago of small islands spread out off the Caribbean coast. Turquoise waters, coral reefs, hidden beaches, snorkeling, sun, wind.
Sometimes the best spiritual practice is to put your feet in the water and stop thinking about anything.
boat tour, snorkelling, sun bathing

Cienaga Village

Stopover on "The World on Water". Cienaga Fisherman Village is built on water, in the delta. The houses are raised on stilts in the middle of a lagoon, boats take the place of cars, children grow up learning to row almost as naturally as they learn to walk and life flows naturally but at a different pace than the one we are used to.

We will cross the village by boat, discover the community, school and church raised above the water, connect with local music and dances and have lunch prepared by the locals.

It is an encounter with a different perspective on life. A community that has lived for generations in close connection with water, fishing and the rhythm of nature. We chose this stop because one of the greatest riches of travel is discovering that the world is much bigger than the reality you know. That there are countless ways to live a life. And each has its own beauty.

Kogui Tribe - the indigineous "guardians of the Air"

The morning will take us to a completely different experience. We will visit a Kogui community in the Sierra Nevada and have the opportunity to spend time with people who preserve one of the oldest spiritual traditions in Colombia.
The Kogui consider themselves guardians of the balance between man and nature and call the Sierra Nevada "The Heart of the World". They have lived there since before Columbia. Since before Spain. Since before everything. The Kogui hold recognized authority and protective roles under Colombia's native legal system and their voices were also heard in international settings on the rights of the Earth.

We will be welcomed into the community, we will hear stories about their way of life and we will meet the Mamo.
Together we will participate in a traditional offering ceremony — a simple and profound moment, through which we express our gratitude to nature, to life and to everything we have received on this journey.

Tayrona National Park

Between the Jungle and the Ocean, Tayrona is one of the most spectacular places in Colombia. Here, the Sierra Nevada mountains descend directly into the Caribbean Sea. The trekking path passes through the forest, among giant trees and tropical vegetation to wild beaches and hidden reefs.

Also the homeland of the indigenous tribes that are called "the protectors of the Earth". Just a day spent in a place that reminds you how beautiful nature can be when left to be exactly as it is.

Caribbean Sea

Last day. Los Naranjos Beach. Warm water of the Caribbean Sea. Palm trees. Horizon.
Nothing to do, nowhere to go. Just free time, to swim, to sleep in the sun, to write, to watch the waves. To each his own.

In the evening, we gather together for the last time. A circle that closes as it began, with presence, with intention, with people who have chosen to walk together for a while. Perhaps this is the most beautiful thing that travel does: it brings together people for a while who would otherwise never have met, and then lets them leave richer than they came.

Trust your true instincts
I’ve been curious for a few years about doing such a retreat and when the opportunity arose while I was traveling thru Europe, I felt it was the right time for me.

My initial communication with Elena reinforced that feeling as she was responsive, accommodating, and compassionate; and even more so in-person.

The guidance, insight, and of course the musical expression of the wonderful guides/facilitators allowed me transcend to a higher level of consciousness.

I’m thankful I was able to trust my instincts for once and will continue to do so with the support provided by the retreat and all its participants.

Thank you!
I totally enjoyed the Ayahusca retreat. I even can not express, what I am feeling. I am so calm. I have the feeling, there is no need to fight for love. Yesterday, I did a training at work for 10 people (public speaking!). Unbelievable, how easily I have managed and got positive feedbacks.
I fell my strong female power. I cooked and backed after a loooong time!

Thank you so much for everything.

Thank you for your kind support. I look forward for the next session, that I will participate in!

Genuine Support
The retreat I took part in was in idyllic surroundings in Switzerland. The rtetreat was in a small group and the organisers of the retreat were compassionate and committed to me as an individual. I was the only English speaker and this was catered for with the upmost respect. I was apprehensive about the retreat and had to take a bit of a slight leap of faith, however, it was a fantastic experience and I am very glad that I participated. Following the retreat the team at Medisenim has endeavoured to keep contact and continue to assist in my personal journey and I am grateful for their ongoing support.
